maybe Apprasial Express no plural

I wanted something catchy when my Mom named her Appraisal company. We ended up with just her last name.......

I wanted something more professional sounding:
1) Elite Valuations
2) Professional Appraisal Services, Inc.
3) Maryland Appraisals Inc. (be careful with these kind of names)

Most of ALL, when you do narrow it down to a select few, google them, just to make sure you aren't going to come up in the same search with gay porn or something. You don't have to worry so much about companies in OTHER states, Corporations are limited only within each state (now, your NOT going to be Nabisco, Sony or something like that though)

It took us MONTHS to agree on our other Business's name, every one we came up with seemed to have some sort of hang up about it.

(on a side note) I used to appraiser under a guy who found out he was using the SAME name as a famous Appraisal school. They threatened him with legal action several times until he gave up and opened up a new sub chapter "S" name.

I'll give you a hint, ah,....I'll just tell you.

It was Maryland Appraisal Institute, Inc.

I am an appraiser, as well. I also live in MD. In trying to find a good name, the one thing that stuck out, was how will people know the company is me. As I am sure you know, in this business your reputation is what gets you work. I also was thinking of something starting with "A". Just be careful of using a name of one of the many appraisal companies that have gone out of business in the last 10 years. Good Luck! and Nice boat!!!

I am Certified........I guess that shows how slow it is, we all have time to goof off on OSO and no gas money to put in the boats............


I work Central MD mostly....

I'm licensed in MD,VA, and DC also should have my FHA in a week or so. I actually just finished getting the class room hours so I can test, I have about 3500 work hours so that won't be a problem. Just getting everything together and send it off to psi so I can test.Yeah I'm pretty slow right now thats why i'm going to just do my own thing. I'm running a shop now with just me as an appraiser w/ a silent partner so to speak and we're just to slow to be splitting the money up, especially when i do all the work and take all the liability.I'm young(in age 22yr) in this business and have plenty of time to develope a bigger better business....:ernaehrung004:

To me, any business name with "express" in it, sounds fast and cheap. Is that how you want your business to come across ?
