39 sutphen om ebay.
Nice boat no 6 wet sumps. no power. I think that boat came from Fort Myers. The guy who had it beat the **** out of it. bids start at 30000 what do you think its worth? I think it had yellow and green stripes down the side.
|
That is Freds old boat from Trick. My guess is that some place in the 50's should take it but I bet it does not go that high.

That boat had a pair of chief 900s in it, If its the one Im thinking of. I heard someone bought it for the power. It sold a long time ago for 75 0r 80k. Ill ask Richy when I see him this week. It was a trip. eng boat. that was redone buy sutphen.in a twin set up. Ran like 104mph from what I recall.

boat was bought by nauti kitty on the board used it to power his 41 saber... i got his playboy... he got my 28ss to use while he built the wave crusher...boat went to fred who rerigged it without power and sold it to someone to finish... dont think it ever was finished after that

Dreamer is wise and all knowing. BTW The boat was never beaten hard, just run fast in calm water. NK
|
Im talking about when it was run in the gulf,In sw. FL. I have seen it 6 ft in the air! And ran with the guy that had it built new.
|
I bought a pair of Bravo 1 drives, Mayfair Steering, & K Planes from the guy selling it....I think the boat is in Michigan.....If that boat has been beaten I can only imagine what my Bravo's will look like when I get them from him....lol
|
No link to Ebay ad ?
|
|
It's a hell of a boat. Someone just needs to buy and finish it. ;)
|
I talked to the owner/seller of the boat today about my Bravo's. I asked him about the Sutphen and he got it from Fred at Trick Marine, who bought it from a guy named Parnell (not sure if thats first name or last name). He said Fred dumped gobs of money into the boat and had some really nice motors built for it, but he thinks Fred ran out of money to finish it. He said there was some bad dealings between him & Fred when he bought the boat. He basically is parting the boat out to recover his investment. He sold the motors and now is selling the hull & trailer.
I'm not the judge or the jury so I'm not trying to pass any judgement or drama, just reporting what I was told....It is a very nice boat that is worth finishing... |
Great lines on the 39' Sutphen! Love the all white paint!

What the hell is wrong with you people?? Most of what I have been reading lately is nothing short of BS. If you dont own a boat,or dont know the real story keep your damn mouth shut. Most people on this site are real people who have real jobs, and really love powerboats.Lets get back on track!! I joined this site 4 years ago and have done a fair amount of business and recieved alot of knowledge from the veterans (members) in that time.I think its sad when some **** stirrer comes on and tells a story or a poor version of the truth. This thread is a clear example of what Im talking about.People should spend more time writing facts instead of inuendo. I dont need to speak up for Fred he's a big boy,but I will tell you this when I needed something he always came through. In my humble opinion a dying breed.Im not a mega poster on OSO which means I respond only to what I know, not what I think I know.If some members followed that lead there would be alot less negativity and more positive information posted that would help everyone.Thats why the site was created right?? PS , I'm not against freindly banter or heated post's but to ban people because of a difference of opinion is a joke.I realize Im off topic but I think people know what im talking about.who knows? Well spoken Fred |
Ok to post your thoughts Mr. Crack,,, in my mind you are spot on,, as for Fred well now , thats a whole new pan of burger's!! maybe one more FF and you could have finnished the boat, eh, old man !! :D:cool-smiley-011:

If stories on here could kill a sale, that'd be rediculous.
If there is a serious buyer, they should do some research, not just read public forums. |

My intention was to help give the boat some history of ownership.....maybe someone would buy it, I know I would if I could afford to finish it. If it makes anyone feel better about it PM me and I will edit the post. |

ok, back to the boat? From the picsit looks like it needs:
exhaust, trannies, driveshafts or plug ins?, motor mounts, and power. Minus the motors were looking at $25-30K? Motors $40K min? Easily a project that would eat up probably at least $75K in parts plus the ebay price when it is said and done? Getting like the fine wine scenerio:) |

BRD, you would have enough room to put in a lounge where the engine compartment is. Feasibility depends on what the minimum price is. If the package investment is much over $100K probably a tough deal as original owner couldn't get more than $80K a few years ago with a decent boat market and a complete package. Boat also had dry sump sixes I believe. There was a relatively new 39 with four outbaords out there for sale.
|
Yeah ... Double R has a 4 Verado 39 listed up in Canada . 4 outboards is tough ... 3 would be the way to go .... It would be one of those deals that you better really like if you did it 'cause you'd be married to it forever ??!?!? !?!?? Are the drives on there "wet sixes" ?
|
Looks like they are wet 6's, in need of a tie bar to boot. I think Mr. Parnell was the overall winner in this deal:)

WTF is butt hurt? How is posting what was 'told to you' regarding personal info, pertaining to the supposed specifics and details surrounding a deal, about someone and something you know nothing about, helping to give history on the boat??? Dude wise up ... don't bother trying to give opinions and details regarding a deal you were not involved with. Editing or deleting at this point is kinda useless as it has been quoted and is here to stay :(
