I was wondering the same thing. Must be a mistake because i don't think somebody in the Coast Guard would be happy about a marine casualty like this. Kirk Larsen who owns that boat is a good friend of mine from my years in the Scallop business.

Tell me something Cap....I know down here on the Gulf Coast we have shoals that shift on a regular basis but the Coasties pretty much keep up with the placement of bouys and/or day markers. I am curious why there is not a red bouy at the start of that shoal on the oceanside as well as the inlet side. Does is shoal shift that fast that it can't be marked? Just curious......
