October Boating! Who would of thought?
2 Attachment(s)
Just as all of the leaves are falling and the people of Northern Michigan are buttoning up for the long winter. Here we are enjoying 80+ degree weather and swimming in Torch Lake. I'm not one to winterize to early. I like to drag it out as long as possible. Looks like this weekend is going to be near 70 and sunny again. This is rather unheard of up in these parts. Here are Pics of Torch River and one of the Torch Lake Sand Bar.

Whats a winterize?:D:D

Hauling the boat south :D

I had my boat out the weekend of the 5th & 6th of October down in St. Joe. Crusied down to Warren Dunes State Park....80*+ weather and water temps were 67-59*. The lake was as flat as an ice skating rink. While we were out there we ran into a brand new stepped hull 37' Outterlimits with Merc #6 drives and a pair of Teague's 565cid Whipple Quad rotored engines. He he boated over from the Chicago area and was running north....right down the shoreline just outside the sand bars. His boat supposedly does 113mph and after he went by me like I was standing still while I was at 90+mph....I tend to believe what he said about his speed. :D
Did you see anybody else out there on Torch Lake Josh? Or were you all by yourself ? |
Been out rompin in the Powerquest myself! Sunday it was about 70, trying to get my use out of it before I leave for the Key West run :D suckas!! :P

Every weekend I think it is going to be my last trip out for the year and then it ends up being 80+ again the following weekend. I love it.

We are heading up the Potomac River into downtown Washington DC and Old Town Alexandria, VA this weekend. I can't wait. I've done the same trip in November before as well.
Pic below is Georgetown, DC; infront of the Watergate buildings and the Kennedy Center, in early November 2005. |

I am heading to Lake Mead tomorrow AM for a few days. Should be high 70's to low 80's, in the new to me 2006 36'
Skater first time to even drive it (if the Elsinore Test goes ok in about two hours) otherwise still will go to Lake Mead with the Ski boat and actually Ski. |
I usually dont pull the boat out untill late November. Just throw a Helmet on and go! Its nice here right now also though.
