the 35 baja lucky 7s

How fast is that boat with 700s?

Back4More 10-21-2007 04:49 PM

97?

chevyzq8 10-21-2007 05:11 PM

There are 3 35's built w/ 700's. From what I've heard they are seeing anywhere between 93-100mph, depending upon the boat and setup.

Velocity Tom 10-21-2007 06:09 PM

Thats it?

chevyzq8 10-21-2007 06:36 PM

It's hard to make a brick go fast :D

Velocity Tom 10-21-2007 06:41 PM

I thought thay changed the bot. on the 35.

US1 Fountain 10-21-2007 06:43 PM

I rode on it this summer with 6 adults. 93mph.
Same day with different driver, it was said to seen high 90's

They did but remember it still has no steps. Helluva good attempt from Baja. Hope to see them continue to push envelope while still keeping the boats price reasonable

Not to mention that hull is the regular layup. If they would have done the PR (or PF) layup it would have been 1000-1200 bls lighter. If I remember Poker Face was doing high 80's/low 90's with 525's and the PR layup. Id say the PR layup with the 700's would be good for at least 110 or so if I was to venture a guess...

I thought I remembered seeing pictures of the Hawkeye boat with 107 or 113 on its gps, and even that was a regular layup.

That would be fun to watch an 01 36' outlaw run with the 01 playboy. But, then again, I guess no one ever wants to compare apples to apples.

For me I'd like to see what those 35' s can do when it gets rough. I saw the pokerface pics from Chicago last year and it looks like she flew pretty well and pretty level (I suppose it has as much to do with the driver as the boat). Without being in the boat it is tough to say what kind of beating the crew did or didn't take.

It was rough in Grand Haven, but the boat handled well. Alot of boats didnt finish that day. We had fun when the chopper came along snapping pics! :)

We paced the lucky 7's boat at about 108-110, and then we went by him. He said he was doin 95 (BS), and had the wrong props on (more BS), but he was able to get by a 42 fountain with a pair of 900's........ and a few others. Just a first hand experience. Say what you will about Baja and how they are not known for speed, that Lucky 7's boat is no slouch.

By biggest question is, does that boat have stock blower pulleys and a stock ECM on it?

Lucky Seven is Bad Ass, Baja is stepping up and building some great boats. We ran beside Lucky Seven in Ft Pierce great boat. I think they were running very High 90's that day with 6 aboard.

The 35 Outlaw is the real deal ,,, and ,, does it really matter what ECU or pulleys it has on it ,, I mean come on ,, ask Reggie if he changed anything when he goes racing ,,, go up and down the docks and smell the Cam II at any major Poker Run ,,, The Lucky 7 boat rocks ,,, it is very fast and stable for a 35 foot boat ,,, and forget about the steps ,, its not about how fast the boat is ,,, its about how the boat goes fast ,, and the Lucky 7 boat does that well !!

I rode on it back in June, ran 99 with
6 on board

Here's what Hawkeye got out of theirs

dreamer 10-22-2007 09:42 AM

baja is doin better.....

hey all i said was whatever to a coment that the boat would go at LEAST 110..

and myn 01 cig aint to be compared to a same vintage or newer baja.

BrettM 10-22-2007 10:31 AM

Lucky 7's does have stock ECM's and stock pulleys. Also, it has close to 150 plus hours on it w/o problems. I sold one of the 3 35's with 700's and have been lucky enough to drive 2 of them. They are running from 93-100+ depending on props and drive height. We took the 35 with 700's I sold to the Cumberland PR and had a blast passing "high end" boats that thought a Baja would not keep up! We have plans to get rid of the drive spacers and buy a set of cleavers for the boat I sold and expect to see 100+mph in a non-stepped deep V!

RHC 10-22-2007 10:57 AM

Cool,,, change the pulley's if ya have to ,,, 100 is a big ##

It's cool man, not trying to start a fight or anything. We are all lucky and blessed to have these awesome boats, whatever brand they are, and whether they are stock or not.

BrettM 10-22-2007 02:39 PM

I agree with saxman....all these boats are awsome. Some of the boats OSO members have are unreal! I like Baja's for their re-sale value and I make a living selling them. You cannot bite the hand that feeds you! All manufactuers in my opinion, have been putting out AMAZING boats in the last 3-4 years!

Does the owner know this??? :D :D I was very impressed with the ride of a 35 foot boat and the 700's seemed absolutely bullet-proof.

Well, that was yesterdays plan. Today, the owner wants to push and sell this one and go ahead and order a 2008. I gaurantee the new one will have cleavers! :D
