Keeping it Clean???
HEllo I am a new owner of a 2002 Scarab 33' AVS wich just got delivered in Ontario Canada. My problems is taking out stains from falling leaves.. Had it parked on the trailer for a few days and it stained the top of the boat. I tryed cleaning it but it leaves a stain where the leaves where sitting. Is there something I can use to take it out? Maybe the boat was not waxed and now that does not protect it? it seems to stain very easy. Anyone have any ideas??

Magic erasers or worse case use an oxidation remover with buffer and they should come out. Ablsolute worst case is wet sand.

On a related note - someone spilled some red wine on my seats and it sat over night - I was devastated, but low and behold, after a weekend or two of normal use and the resultant sun exposure - the stain is gone. |
Oxy-Clean. Works wonders. You can also lay a rag on it and soak it with hydrogen peroxide.

As stated previously let it sit in the sun and use a mild compound. They will come out...don't fear!

Try Tilex

I've had the same thing happen before. Even worse was the leaves fell in a storm and were wet and sticking. I tried several things, most of which required a lot of work. Then I simply sprayed on some Clorox Clean Up on the stains. They disappeared within minutes. Wash normally after and rewax.

Thank you for all the tips.. I will try this...

i know it sounds really bad.. put some bleach in a spray bottle and spray the deck, then wash right after.. then i would put a layer of wax on.. i had big stain problems around my house and i would do it quite a bit, but would also wash and spray wax right away.. never any problems, and the deck of my cig was as bright white as if it was new....

To all:
Do NOT use ON/OFF anywhere on your boat. It is really VERY bad for your gel coat. |
