Allison XR2001, Mercury Drag, 129mph in the Kilo. One way 131.
I have seen 134 on the lake..........

151.5 for the tunnel single engine, mod-vp
160ish for true tunnel.

1100hp--- 137mph, I know a few driver that WOULD try!.

I have had a hard time finding the answer to this same question, as I too like to run my 28 fast. I think there is a class in the APBA called 26'-31' stern driven single engine vees,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, to run the kilo(I think). Of course there are many small boats and outboards that have run huge numbers, but to compare apples to apples, As far as I know, there are only a small few single engine I/O stern driven boats 26'+ running well into the triple digits. I have heard a lot of stories about some real fast ones,,,,,,,,,,,We ran 122.0 mph a few weeks ago with a Howard 28 and a big blower motor.
That is a whole different story though,,,,,and off topic. To keep on track, I would really like to find out if there has even been a record set with a boat like this(28' vee/stern driven I/O)? I can guarantee you this,,,,,,,,there are no 28' vees out there running 95 mph with a 525!!!!!!!

A stroker with on IO??
I have seen some big numbers from strokers and allisons I really like the looks of the 28 it looks like an alli running and they handle the chop good for a 20ft 900lbs hull.

A 28 Howard will run 89 with a 600sc. http://www.howardboats.com/boat_revi..._28_bullet.pdf

According to Hot boats - its the fastest 28 ever made, or was.....

That is truly an amazing accomplishment. You should take a stab at the record. Then you wouldn't be calling magazines for boat reviews.........., they would be calling you.

you mean w/ a 525, right?
i know the extreme29 is running 83 w/a 496magHO.
Would be interesting to see what it'd run w/ a 525efi.
thats one of the closest competition i can see to the 28Tuff, both being low slung hotrods.
