Here is my toy.
An old 14ft kevlar Jet Sprint Boat with a new 500HP donk. Good for ripping ski biscuits riders arms off ! Ignor the Ford badge, that's long gone. The boat used to have a worked 351 Cleveland, now it has a modified GM 6.0l. Cheaper to buy a new engine than rebuild the old one! |

I love the set back on the whaler!!!!!!!!!!
Boat was '69 w/a 15" transom that I raised to 20". I kept pix's of the 40 yr old bone dry plywood core too for all of the anti wood guys. Amazingly, one of the most fun boats to drive that I've ever owned. It needed more set back though. Went the fastest (48.6 GPS) hanging off the back seat while steering w/your foot. Scared the crap out of one of my buddies on his 60 mph jet ski one time when we raced from one of the islands to our inlet and back. He beat me by about 50'. Course, I lost a pair of shoes and a life jacket in the process. Was fun spanking V-6 flats boats and center consoles too. Took it to the Keys one time before the Sonic was done and put 90 mls on the GPS in 3 days :helmet: Proof that w/speed......., it's all relative. 100 in a big heavy boat or 50 in a tiny one. Dollar per dollar, the tiny one is tough to beat. Interesting too that one of my offshore buddies down here told me that ALL of his offshore friends also have small, single O/B go fasts as well. |
