Well, A 35 Cigarette is actually 35' long, a 35' Fountain is really 32'. Take a 38 Top Gun, you would have to compare it to a 42 Fountain before you would have an apples to apples match-up. Beeks and swim platforms, while stylish(and oh so sexy ), don't improve rough water performance.

How about a "fun" factor? I know ALL of these boats are fun, but who else really enjoys a challenge when driving? I've ridden in 38 and 42 Cigs on flat water or 1-2 footers, and they feel like trucks compared to my 35 Fountain. In 4-6's, I've been in a non-step Gun and a 38 Flatdeck and they were a blast, but my boat was also rockin' in that crap once we got on top of it. 42 beak was the same deal...I think I'd need some big waves to make it a challenge...I get sick of looking at Bob Z bored to death in 2-3s while I'm throttling and actuallly DRIVING the boat . In short, I really like my 35 beak because it's a blast to DRIVE...very stable at speed and in the rough...maybe the race-proven hull has something to do with that?

Like I said, proven by the poll, that I can count on ONE hand the number of people willing to take a FREE Fountain over a FREE comparable boat.

Currently 5 votes for Fountain.(less than 4%)

I really have no problem with them spouting crap about winning SBI and OSS and P-1. That is a great accomplishment.

It is the bit from 3 YEARS AGO about the kilo and OL that I beg them to let go. Using video of the mock "competition" for the kilo record only has merit when more than one company is trying to do it. Maybe they should have talked about Cig, at least that was only 2 yrs ago.
