They used to make axle jacks for trailers....they were shaped like a "D" with a notch on one end... Put the notch on the axle then back the trailer up and it rolls over the D and lifts the axle up....pull forward to bring it down....

Sometimes a bit of debris gets pinched in the valve seat, preventing full closure of the valve. Try gracking the valve open just a little bit and pumping it hard and fast with a load on it.. That can move enough fluid through the valve to loosen the dirt. IIRC, on that jack you can unscrew the valve/pump mechanism for disassembly. It's unlikely the ram seal is bad. I know this might be a stupid question but is it full of oil? It might be a good idea to drain & refill it. Use a DTE 24 or equivalent hydraulic oil. That's 10 weight.

That's a good jack and very repairable. Lincoln should have someone local that can service it for you.

Thanks Ill try that 2.

Yea my buddy owns the shop here, He rebuilt it about 7 years ago for 160.00,Guess I should of ask how much firstI found a place on line, kit was about 30.00.He told me to try and jack it up while its up take a big hammer and wack the shet out of it on the lift pad ,pushing fluid pass the seat, that might break loose any trash ,if thats whats wrong.

He also said it shouldnt be full on the oil level said about 1/2, anything over will come out the vent .The jack hasnt been leaking oil and I did put some in it ,didnt help.

Also found out all the jacks,Lincoln ,walker ect were bought out by a jap co, that there all imports now ,that the company that bought them is not making parts or service the old stuff.

Thanks
Rob
