The seat is probably worn out. People ALWAYS over tighten the things and ruin them. When they are new all you need to so is just barely seat the things and they work. For some reason people feel the need to really tighten them. This puts a groove in the seat and it will no longer work. Back out the screw that the handle goes into and I am betting there will be a ridge on it.
That sounds like thats what is wrong,I call a bud in the HYD biz he said there might be a piece of trash on the seat of the valve? I ll take a look at it and see ,hopefully its in the valve
They said the jack is worth rebuilding that the new one (Walker) is around 400.

no i was just suggesting that there was no need to get out the big truck...hmm where are the jack stands..are they behind the rear axel? if they are is there a way to drop the front enough to get it off the stands?
