Thanks. I read the thread. OK gelcoat issues, law suit. Doesn't really tell me anything about the boat performance, ride, construction etc.
Fountains, Formulas, Donzi's, Mercury, ford, chevy. all had law suits, etc.

Does that mean that your ins. company totalled your boat?

Most of those companies also built better boats!

Paradox,
Speaking from experience, I would try to stay with a more well known name brand if you are looking at resale down the line. My 29' Kryptonite was one of the best under 30' out there but it took me over a year to sell it. Everyone who ran in it or even saw it loved it but knew nothing about it.
Donzi, Cigarette, Fountain, etc. have worldwide recognition and anyone will take them on trade or broker.

I hope your Avanti isn't totaled, but if it is it may be a blessing in disquise if you were planning on selling it.

P.S.- Glad you were ok in that accident.

Would a 2001 353 Formula with just a tad over 100 verifiable hours pique your interest? It is most definitely in your price range, one owner, and I can personally verify its condition (belongs to a friend of mine). Fresh water boat (LOTO), never been trailered (sits on a lift), 496 MAG HO's, K-planes, hydraluic steering, power foot rests, upgraded Imron graphics, etc.

Thumbs up

I agree with what sellsman11 & Tom A. said. Stick with a name brand if you care about resale. Now is a good time for great deals on boats! Have fun shopping!

Audiofn. >>>Yup.. Looks like the ins. co. is totaling the boat.
$60m to repair.
I will still be out of pocket with a nother boat, and my budget dictates $ I can spend.
TOm A. . >> Based on last talks with Ins. Co.. Avanti is history. I wish I could get one like it. Great ride, good looks, needed some more HP for speed. Was going to keep it for a while. And thanks, we are OK. wlaked away from it waiting to wake up.
Knot 4,>>> Sure.. I always liked Formulas. I have an old one infact. Send me some more info and pics. etc.
I can't make a decesion yet, Ins. Co. is not done yet, but I'm researching my options.
THanks guys,

It may be a good time to buy, but boats are scarce, plus I am not really in a hurry.
No budget for a OL, Nortech, Cig or alike.
wishfull thinking.
With the current economy, my company and business is in the toilet.
Any one needs something to be built?
