Apache 28 VS. Pantera 28

Very similar bottoms. Apache is probably a bit heavier. Slower with equivalent power but a slight edge in ride. The differences would be in the rigging. The Apache was meticulously rigged when new and most of the redone one's I've seen were improved upon. Tough to find them. You'll probably pay ledd for a Pantera. Never been in big water with a Pantera but my 28 Apache would run with 35 Cigs and give up very little.

Well, First and for most it was in my price range. I wanted an offshore boat that would handle ruff water and fit in side my garage (34' on the trailer.)
The research I did kept pointing me toward the Pantera. No, I haven't ridden in a 28 Apache. I'm sure it rocks. I am partial to the old school look of the Pantera.
My boat has suprised me several times running over heavy slop and 3-4's and when she flys and lands I can't wipe the smile from my face with a 2x4. I'm not old salt or anything and I'm not foolish enough think it's the best boat out there, but I think it is very well made and it constantly amazes me.
There was a poll here on OSO about the best 28ish ruff water boat and the Pantera was favored.
They also seem to be very popular in the race circuit.

I have not taken a ride in either but really like the lines of both.
I like the room that the Pantera has in the engine compartment. Boating in Clear lake and Galveston bay can get pretty rough. Also looking for something that can handle overnighting.
Has anyone ever added A/C to either boat?
