you mean 15th street ramp, I would guess that Hideaway transport could handle a job that simple. boat has to be launched and driven 50 feet.

the boat is on a trailer, I saw it at Hideaway the other day. Can they bring it to the ramp and i can get it across for you.

Has the boat been to the Port before? If not, it can only go on Tuesdays or Thursdays to be lasered and surveyed no?

otis311 11-26-2007 05:34 PM

Chris, Check with Ben at the Port Marina before you have them go thru all this. You need to have the bottom surveyed and then the cradle built or ajusted before they will put the boat in its spot. The guy that does it isnt there all the time. I think Steve is right with Tuesdays and Thursdays. I went there unsuspecting this and it caused Steve and myself some headache and alot of extra work. I had to leave the boat in the OSO office in the way of everything then Steve had to move it to another spot, then Steve had to launch the boat and store the trailer again until I could borrow his truck to bring it to Miami. All beccause I didnt plan ahead and just assumed that I could just pull right in

Turns out Hideaway can bring it over for me. The boat is being surveyed at 2:00 today. I am all set with Ben.

Thanks again for the help guys - looking forward to running with you guys when I get down there!

I have an appointment down the street at 2pm today, I will stop by the Port at 1-1:30 and "double check" for you that all is going smoothly. PM me a number to call you at if there are any issues.

Why do they have to survey and laser the boat to store it?

Liabilty to make sure no existing damage and then they build you a custom cradle designed just for your bottom

CigDaze 11-27-2007 11:40 AM

Yep, premium marinas will do that to ensure you're boat's properly supported and to determine the existing condition of the boat.

It has a custom cradle that it sits in. The whole place is computerized.

otis311 11-27-2007 12:02 PM

Jr, I just talked with Steve, He will peek in on it within the hour

cowisl 11-27-2007 12:49 PM
