Default Garmin 5212.........anyone ?

I have been looking at GPS/Chartplotters by Garmin and have come across these newer touch screen models.......they have an added feature called "g2 vision" which seems to act similiar to the Navigation in our cars.......you plug in a final destination and it automaticly finds a route with way points for you to follow. Am I correct about this and if I am does anyone have this feature ? How do you like it ? Is it that idiot proof ? Here is a link to what I am rambling about..........and thanks in advance..........................................J ohnny

The 5212 auto routing feature looks at the parameters you set up in the unit (draft and height constraints) compares to chart info to give you a RECOMENDED route sold quite a few of these and have had no complaints, touch screens are holding up well also, don't think anything is truly idiot proof but damn close!

I was told by one person that they felt the screen on the 5212 was uncomfortably hot to the touch, buut I have no firsthand experience with that. I bought a 4212 (the non-touchscreen version) and am very happy with it, although the AutoGuidance feature doesn't work every time. It may be due to the complexity of some routing tasks here in the upper Chesapeake. The satellite and aerial photos are very useful, particularly if you travel to new places a lot, like we do. It's my second Garmin, and I'm a happy camper. (I went with the WX weather radio, too.)
