Mercury 1200's?

Why don't I see any in the new 2008 model boats coming out?

Chest Rockwell 11-29-2007 01:55 PM

No warranty.

BenPerfected 11-29-2007 02:12 PM

Smart marketing move

VetteLT193 11-29-2007 02:15 PM

Really the 1075's don't have one either, I think that is 90 days? And the 850 is 6 months? I'm pretty sure you don't get any kind of warranty of a year or more until you get down to the 700 package.

WARPARTY36 11-29-2007 02:16 PM

No warranty and most people don't want the hassle of race gas when the 1075's run on 93 octane.

Spine Tingler 11-29-2007 04:19 PM

I can give you 112 reasons!!!

OCTANE!

GATORONE 11-29-2007 05:36 PM

Been there done that:evilb:

FROGMAN524 11-30-2007 01:09 AM

Well 112 octane wouldn't hold me back if I was paying upwards of 1 mil for a boat. to each his own i guess

Jassman 11-30-2007 05:15 AM

reliable low horsepower = more time on the water with less headaches even though you won't have the bragging rights. Just make some chit up at the end of the day at the bar.:D

It's not about money. You can by 1200 hp that runs on pump gas from just about any credible engine builder. It's not the cost of fuel but the inconvience to find it when boating

Jupiter Sunsation 11-30-2007 06:33 AM

They are pricey when factoring in the turn key warranty, as in you turn the key the warranty is over and the high octane fuel requirement.

Best Idea- Buy 1075's then change the stickers in on top of the motor. 99.9% of onlookers won't catch it!

Only you and your mechanic will be the wiser! :D

mrhorsepower1 11-30-2007 08:32 AM

I can build them better, cheaper, and they run on pump gas! .....And don't fail.:D

Affording it is not the problem I doubt. Finding it readily would be a major issue.

Look no further than Super Cat Cove at LOTO!! "Lord, I apologize..."

GATORONE and mrhorsepower1 hit the nail on the head !! :D When I turn up the boost in my engines and NEED to run 110 octane, I need to bring it from home, cause there's no place on the water on lake Michigan that'll sell it. (that I know of at least) Horny Toad in the Ozarks has it year round, and maybe a couple places in Fla too, but for the most part, it's a PAIN in the azz. Smells good tho. :D

Like Dean says, most "reputable" engine builders can make that kind of HP on pump gas................and LIVE.

Love the smell of VP blue, I think its like 120 or so. We had to run it in our open boats 13:1 comp.
