Stuff to do in Sarasota

Short notice but I will be in Sarasota next week and was wondering if anyone has any advice on stuff to kill some free time. Bars, restaurants maybe even a few places to look at some of that FL boat hardware. Winterized for just over a month and already having withdrawals....

Thanks.

Gators on Main Street always has live music on the weekends. There is a semi private club upstairs as well. There are a few good restaurants out near St. Armands Circle.

no, there is only one place in sarasota, there are no restaurants, there are no other bars in the whole town, hell I'm not so sure there are any gas stations, the only thing in that town is the CHEETAH....at leat that is the only thing I saw in that town.

Stop by Phantom Boats and pull Will Smith's wanker. Stop by Kinetic Animation and tell Ryan how cool he is and pump is ego for a few hours. Take 301 to the Cheetah.

Jassman 11-30-2007 04:59 AM

Go an hour south to FT Meyers and do a plant tour of the Nor-Tech facility. There are other boating manufactures there as well.

If the hot dog lady is still at the corner of Washington (301) and 29th (maybe 24th), beside the Auto Zone, I highly recommend you stop and get one ... or three :D They are soooooo good :cool-smiley-011:

Have to do lunch @ Tommy Bahamas @ St Armands circle. Crunchy grouper sandwich and a pint of bloody mary! Saw Jerry Springer there. Go to Mote marine to see the Manatees before theyre all gone and while your there the salty dog has great deep fried hot dogs ( as if they aren't bad enough for you already) . Siesta key beaches and restaraunt/bar area is cool. I always have to stop by marine surplus and look for cheap parts for the boat.
