Boat U.S. magazine article
In the latest edition of Boat U.S. Trailering magazine, there is an article titled “The Sound- and Fury of Cigarette Boats" (pages 14 -17). Their online version as of today is still last months edition, but the web site is http://www.boatus.com/trailerclub/ click on trailering magazine link. The article talks of problems with waterfront communities and High Performance (Loud) boats. It cites cases from Texas, Washington, Alabama, Maine, etc. The article also includes comments from both Fountain and Formula with regards to mufflers, speed and safety. At the end of the article they have three questions as they would like to know your thoughts on go-fast boats on inland lakes….They are as follows:
Is there legislation in your area to ban high performance boats from the waters where you take your boat? Do you agree or disagree? What good and bad examples of high performance boats have you seen (and heard)? How do you think this will be handled in the coming years? E-mail your answers to [email protected]. |

Boat U.S. has not updated their web site to the new issue. The one that is on the web site is last months. I received the magazine in the mail yesterday. It is volume 9, Dec/Jan 2008.
