sunken boat

my brother was away on holiday and when he came home today he found his 23ft welcraft on the bottom of the lake it was fully refurbished and fitted with a new 5.0 mpi in the spring. he is gutted we got it pulled out and it is full of mud how can we save it ie engine drive pumps etc
p.s it is a freshwater lake/no salt so hopefully it wont be as bad to get fixed

I'd say the motors have to be completely gone througha and all electrical is fried. As for the fluids such as hydraulic pumps, they will have to be taken apart and lubed up and drained out but it's probably a total loss.

Engine needs to be "pickled" immediately. Search for threads here about how to do it. Don't know all the details, but someone here will chime in. Oil pan and cylinders need to be drained and flushed/refilled with kerosene.

Waste no time in pickling the motor(s).
You're gonna have some work ahead - I wsh you the best in getting her back together.

My friend went through the same thing a while back. The one thing he overlooked was the trim system. After using it for the end of the summer, he winterized it. Come spring, both trim cylinders were split right up the side! Must have gotten water in the pump reservoir, or something! Nick

Any Idea of what caused it to go to the Bottom??

Bellows?

we realised when we were lifting it out of the water we forgot to block off the old exhaust pipes that run to the leg when we fitted the risers and put the exhaust tru the transom. but the cover peeled up a bit in the wind and heavy rain and acted as a spouting and soon as the couple of days rain run to the back the old pipes went below the water and down she went
