Rick, I feel for ya...I had a freshly rebuilt HP500 last 45mins & it spun a Rod bearing ....now witrh cost of Gas..I question the fun of boating

Not good,definetly compressed wawa. Heres how it goes, compress H2O, piston breaks at wrist pin,dropping all the needle bearings.Then they travel thru all the pistons power ports and block intake/exhaust passages.Usually head gasket's fire ring rots or delaminates letting wa in.

Its common on all cylinder,none specific. Can be resleeved, but it wiil probably need couple of rods,3-4 pistons and maybe new crank(rings,bearings,etc).Reman powerhead may be the way.Very depressing.

I windowed one my 2.4 blocks the same way. Got tired of paying other people to hot rod my stuff so I busted out the craftsmen tools and never looked back. My point is, if you are gonna put this one back together I've got what you need collecting dust in my basement. Used, but usable. US Chrome in Wis. can fix your block with Chrome bores.
