No holes, but the walls are scored.

Not sure where this string gasket is, but I will take a look at the exhaust tomorrow.

I havent given up, was just a little upset at the moment it happened, i'll get over it, just trying to figure out how to wrap up my wifes new powerhead she is getting for christmas

No, the plate behind the coils. water flows on one side and exhaust on the other. I have seen salt water eat through the inner plate and leaks into the cyl.
