400hp Verado & 375 HP Optimax
 

Found this quote on Scream and Fly in reference to the new Mercury Verado and OPtimax,

Has anyone else heard this.


"Its going to be a 4L, inline 8, dual turbo, 400 HP Verado.

AND a 3.8L, 375 HP, 4 star, XS Optimax."

I bet that will be a monster.

Those huge engines seem like overkill on any transom over a long period of time. I also agree...we'll have to wait and see!

Didn't Johnson come out with V8 outboards that were a flop awhile back?

I find it real hard to believe ,,, the 350 yammie has some real issues at 850lbs and sucks gas like a street mustang ,,, I just dont see them getting any bigger ,,,, now ,,, make more hp with the engines they got ,, yep ,, I can see that coming sooner than ya think. We all know that Merc build's them conservative when they put the 5yr warrenty with it,,, I look for ICU changes to what they already have ..
