LED 's in cabin

Anybody using LED's for lighting in the cabin?
I'm looking at them for the low amp draw. If your using them please post some pics of the fixtures.
Thanks.

There were alot of booths at the Miami boatshow with all kinds of LED's. I have them in my cockpit which I bought from Boat US. The only difference is that it has a blue look to the lights.

Are you looking for more of a puck light like in the Formula or a rope up the sides? Have you tried to do a google search for 12 volt LED Rope lights? There was a thread on OSO about a year ago on this topic I think. I will try and do a search quick but I am trying to get out of the house. As soon as the truck is warmed up we are GONE!!!! :D

I'm thinking of upgrading the ones in the tiger too, tired of finding the lil bulbs all over the place after doing some jumping. can you use the exixting wiring or should it be re run?

I have several electronics bocks and web sites for leds and components. I just haven't see anything I like yet. I'm redoing the uphol in the cabin and now's the time to change things up.
I would like to do some back lit (indirect)stuff .

I got some from Boaters World and some from Defender.com . The lights are from Innovativelight.com. There are a lot of LEDS on the market I hope this helps.:cool-smiley-011:

I found a site with nice options. Many marine replacement bulbs to keep your existing fixtures.
I wonder what shipping from down under costs?:D

Strip,
That site has all kinds of led substitutes (not prostitutes :D)
you might find a fit for the socket in that fixture.

Led's

I found a sight "superbrightleds" they have all diffrent kinds of bulbs and yes diffrent colors too, so you do not have to change the fixture. They also have charts so all you have to do is pull out your bulbs and compare. I chaned my 45 Sonic over competely for about $300.00 dollars every bulb in the boat. I love them and have had several people get the web site from me after seeing them.

tomtbone1993 03-26-2008 09:41 PM

WILDMAN where did you purchase your lights from?

ve3lt 03-26-2008 09:58 PM

To answer the question about colours...YES they come in many colours.

In fact I purchsded some round lights to replace my old ones in my 85 Stinger and they have two colours in them. If you flick the switch one way they are blue. If the switch is flicked the other way they are red. They were not cheap however at almost sixty bucks per. I bought six for my boat.

The amperage draw is amost non existant and they do not get hot like the old twelve volt 1156 style bulbs. Holy Cow!!! reading a book at night almost made the pages start on fire! Those bulbs get damn hot!
That is another reason why I changed them out.

WILDMAN 03-27-2008 12:42 AM

Ebay, of course!
