Spring Break 2008

I would like to send my son and my Donzi some where nice and fun for spring break. Are any lakes having any spring break parties, South Padre, South Beach, Daytona?

LostinBoston 01-06-2008 09:04 PM

havasu should be fun. When is your break?

kennyo 01-07-2008 07:41 AM

You're either a real cool dad......or stupid!

TexomaPowerboater 01-07-2008 08:44 AM

If you want your son and boat to star in a porno send him to HAVABREW:evilb::D

and if you don't mind and send him make sure you post the video in the UC section:)

Clay Washington 01-07-2008 09:43 AM

send the son to a salt-water beach, and keep the boat at home!

tblrklakemo 01-07-2008 09:45 AM

I did havasu one yr while I was in college.....fun, very fun....but you arent going to want to worry about your baby(donzi) in those peoples hands. Send him there, rent a house boat, party cover days, and club at night.

Supposing that the OP is thinking of sending the Donz and his kid to the same place, I think it can only have a few outcomes:

a. Both boat and son survive unscathed.
b. The boat gets destroyed as a result of savage partying.
c. Someone drowns and you get sued (one of the drunk chicks he's filming the skin flick with?)

orss 01-07-2008 10:16 AM

well maybe he is good mature responsible kid.

i was a good responsible kid , my dad at the time let me barrow hi beltran 31.:D

an i did a lot of crazy sh.. when my dad wasn't around:evilb:

baddogz28 01-07-2008 10:21 AM

^^^ Ha that's what I am talking about. And my dad knows I took his 390hp Jag XJR out in high school.

He just doesn't know that I got it airborne.

302Sport 01-07-2008 10:32 AM

Yeah I'm 21 years old and if my dad told me I could take the boat to one of these spots on spring break I dont think I would even trust myself..... But really I dont think its a good idea nowadays with money hungry people who dont have sh!t, all you need is one girl to slip and fall on your bow, and next thing you know her modeling career is over and all this bs......you can kiss everything youve worked for goodbye.....the people who have a lot are always the targets of people who have nothing trying to make free quick buck........I dunno maybe Im being a downer, but its not worth it, get him a houseboat and rent him a jetboat or something......he will have plenty of fun and maybe it will encourage him one day to have his own boat there instead of renting one.......

302Sport 01-07-2008 10:33 AM

but if you insist on sending him ill chaperone.........

Semper Fi 01-07-2008 10:34 AM

That's a cool gesture-you are a cool dad, but DON'T DO IT. The liablities are too high.

Take your son on a boating trip with you, maybe even let him bring some friends and you can supervise.

When i was in college, we towed a 23' walkaround down to key west for spring break one year. It worked out pretty well, because you are not subject to the 200 boat party raftup. We would take the boys out drinking and fishing a couple of days and then take a bunch of the girls out on other days to sun and swim. Then we'd have the boat back by dark and hit the bars for the serious partying.

it can be done semi-responsibly, and only you know your son. But no matter how responsible, i wouldn't subject him to the tempation on those lakes.

Doesn't sound like a good idea and you might want to reconsider it....but if your insisting your boat makes it to a spring break party...then what size Donzi is it? What's it got for power? Are you including a gas card? Just curious because I could be available for adoption that week :D

Damn, I was doing good to get my old man to buy me dinner when I was in college. As an experienced spring break partier and a somewhat responsible adult, I am willing to revert back to my college days and keep an eye on your son and the boat if your buying. ;)

...Club La Vela was a personal favorite. GREAT times!! Basically, your kid should go somewhere hot, sunny & full of morally loose women with hard bodies! Leave the boat at home. Nuff said.

Tell your son to do this, Get a older, large video camera with the microphone setup. Get a couple of cheap hats made that have GGW on it, and buy a lot of video tapes. Trust me it works great. :D

I have had a boat all my live, and so has he we now have seven together. My 2 son's keep them spotless and waxed. They are truely great boys, we have built 4 boats together so I know he can fix what he screws up. I did not factor in what someone else might do on the boat or to the boat. And yes if they got on the bow they would slip and fall, it's slick as sh$$. thanks for you replies

OL40SVX 01-08-2008 09:39 PM

what size donzi is this??

B one 01-08-2008 10:05 PM

33 foot

smokin' joe 01-08-2008 10:21 PM

Better to send him with condoms and aspirin instead. No deposit, no return......and no headaches.

and you are problably right about your kids, they may deserve the chance. i got my chance and even when i did some crazy sh... , was with my all time pals , no strangers . back in does day people was different, now you have a lot of people without principles or morals standards, that i like to call ""sue happy"
and is a shame that we have to live like that

OL40SVX 01-09-2008 10:41 PM

Im know for a fact my Dad would never ever give me the boat to use at my own will!! Id say what everyone else is saying, keep the boat at home!! Kids can be stupid!!! I know cause im one of them. I have been around these boats my whole life as well and dont feel I should be able to take the Cig on my own for spring break!

Keytime 01-10-2008 10:52 AM

I think everyone is different. When I was younger, I respected my parents more than other sh*thead kids, cuz my parents treated me better and gave me responsibility with their possessions. I got to use their cars and boat most anytime I wanted. That was tons better than anything I ever got from kids my age. I knew that, if I screwed that up, I was screwing myself over and seriously disrespecting them. You couldn't pay me to have a party at my house behind their backs or anything like that. Peer pressure didn't phase me much.
So, maybe this situation is a good one. I do understand the liability aspect of things, but maybe the son has enough common sense and maturity to make the same decisions an adult would and avoid problems. Not everyone is a hard-partying reckless moron at that age. :cool-smiley-011:

LostinBoston 01-10-2008 11:43 AM

nevermind

Wobble 01-10-2008 12:07 PM

I'd rule out South Padre as far as sending a boat down there.
