Hey Miller!

Do you want me to see if I can get some stuff from my fire department? What other things do you want? I want to help. I have a light that clips to a book/magazine that I use, want me to go buy one and send it to you? It isn't as cool as Chuck's idea but it works. What other things does HE like? Do they NEED anything? Would it be better if I sent you some cash? Just let me know? Did you ever get in touch with AYCO? Their website is http://www.ayco.com

I didn't reach the right person at AYCO but am planning on trying shortly today. As for the care package, no need to send me cash or anything like that. It's just that I know some friends and family members of mine wanted to send things to the guys personally to show that we, back home, appreciate their commitment and sacrifice. So, I thought I'd let everyone here know that I'm sending some stuff and will be about every other week until he comes back in the late Spring. So, if you want to send something, like a hat or shirt from your local fire department, that would be awesome.

Generally, the guys like to get junk food. I got an email from him last night and he said that one guy had the portable DVD player with a tv screen that they all shared and they had only 2 DVDs the 1st and 2nd seasons of the Sopranos. So, I sent them the newly restored version of Apocalypse now that has the additional 49 minutes of footage. I may send something else later like Braveheart or the Patriot.

He said the food was okay, even the MREs (meals ready to eat) and that they occassionally have had hot water. He mentioned the light and other than that said they like getting newspapers and magazines from home and have, between them, enough paperback books to last the deployment. What he didn't have was the light to read with. Though, his wife sent me an email a little while ago saying she might have found a good one to send him today. So, I'm going to send some magazines, newspapers, candy bars, cookies, Coca Cola (it's expensive to ship a case of soda, but they seem to like that little surprise). But, I'm open to suggetion. I can't send porn or booze. Everything else seems to be good to go.

Not sure about snowmobile magazines, but why not? I usually send Newsweek, Time, US News and World Report, Sports Illustrated and something like Maxim plus the NY Times and usually the Wall Street Journal (my friend is a big fan of doing his own investment research and managing his own investments and likes to know what's going on while he is away). But, they seem to appreciate anything they get.

Miller, if you think they would be interested I'll send tee shirts with Team Liquid, F1-03 Offshore Powerboat Racing logo on the back, and Stateamind Power Sports logo in the front. The shirts are white with four color graphic's but I can do a different color for the shirt if they want. Let me know quantities and sizes.
