Kevin,

It was at the S.C.O.P.E. poker run in September.

Where have you been ...?

Looks like this boat: http://www.pier57.com/200444MTIBlueJackson.htm But it notes 15 hours on new 6's.......

ZBODaytona 01-14-2008 03:58 PM

I like those types of MTI's on my wish list

dukenrock 01-14-2008 04:12 PM

Chris,
I inquired about it earlier in the year and we couldn't agree on a price. They called me back today. I've been hearing alot of people say they wouldn't go with the rudder/surface drives.

Are you in LV yet? Been busy here. Kristen got engaged and have been ramping up an iP camera division. Hope all is well with the new relocation.

What's the negative on the drives and motors? (I'd be OK with 850's or even 700's, but would rather have the 900's instaed of the 1075's. (Insurance)

I think this MTI is very nice, paint is cool, alot of room in cockpit, yet still still sporty and pretty fast. I would say the rudder, drives, mostly keeping it from selling, motors are also a negative, but overall awesome boat, make them an offer, and be king of the water.

Boat was originally built for National Marine and sold to a young guy in Florida, which is where is stayed until he sold it. It has a pretty cool DVD player set up in the cuddy.
Nothing wrong with the Rudder as long as you don't loose a motor, then they can be a *****. The 900's are great motors, I've had 2 sets with no problems. They run good and with little maintaince except the usually solid roller requirements. My MTI SUV like that one ran about 130 anytime with 10 people on board. Supposedly ran 137 when in was new with some really good Herring, but I never saw anything close to that. You have to have a high rake prop with that boat as it is very bow heavy with the large cuddy. I ran a 20* herring which was great, Merc now makes a 21* that may just as good or better.

Will be going out end of February. Was a major hassle getting my license out there. Fingerprints, formal FBI investigation, endless paperwork, etc. My boss is the head of the Nevada Bureau of Homeland Security. Finally a call to the governor of Nevada lit a fire under their backside (the Nevada Medical Board).

Hope you make it out to visit ...

We Did the paint back in 2003. Still looks great from what I can see, but it is missing the Geo logo it had by the rudder. Ha, Ha.

dukenrock 01-14-2008 07:19 PM

So they must have overlooked your background check:evilb: I'll be out there for an NEC meeting in February.

I have seen that boat(or an extremely close duplicate) here in Maryland just outside Annapolis.

chuckbeecher 07-06-2008 03:53 PM

Has this boat been in Destin for Emerald Coast Run the past several years?

Anarchy Powerboats 07-06-2008 05:39 PM

You can probably get it even cheaper then that in this market, if you buy it you can take it up to Roosevelt near me :)

scottc 07-06-2008 08:01 PM

That boat is now living in Maryland. Sweet looking machine. Wish I was able to ride on it. But I wonder what the sale price for it was. Saw it on Boats.com for $450k, but I'm sure it went for less in this market. Congrats to the new owner and his side kick.

BEAUTIFUL boat, and one my all time top 5 paint schemes. I am curious as to the story behind the setup... Who would build a rudder boat for a pleasure application?

Wonder how much to convert to articulable drives...

Ted G 07-06-2008 09:51 PM

The boat runs really well with the rudder and BPMS. Turns on a dime, seriously. You need to drive the sticks around the dock, but it will just take time to get the hang of it. It runs like it's on rails and the BPM drive make it plane flat and fast. All in all it is a great pleasure setup.

Racerngr1 07-07-2008 01:21 AM

That boat is at Inland Boat center in Perris, CA.

No, they just haven't removed the listing, my buddy bought it from them and it was delivered Thursday. BTW, the guys at Inland were great, up front, and went out of their way to make this deal happen. Kudos to them.

You the driver or a deckhand? how did it handle in high speed turns? Can you cruise slow or is it just a high speed machine.

Just an interested passenger/rope monkey. It will literally throw you from the seats it turns so hard and flat at speed. The rudder setup does not work well at 40-50, the sponsons will bow steer until it packs air, which makes it oversteer and requires correction. At 60 or so it starts to lift the bow and then it drives like any other boat, just really fast and smooth.

millinium 07-07-2008 09:05 AM

so what speed is cruise?

Ted G 07-07-2008 09:12 AM

100

I thought that was the boat I saw heading East on I-40 last Wednesday night towards Little Rock on my way to Grand Lake. Hard to get a pic at dusk passing each other at 75mph in the opposite direction!

millinium 07-07-2008 10:09 AM

where do you cruise around at 100? Ever hang at dobbins? would be cool to check it out. How much did the boat go for? Looks like it ranged from 300-450k

Ted G 07-07-2008 10:19 AM

We ran from South River to Red Eyes and went from 80-100 the whole way. Marty (owner) is not a big raft up kinda guy but we come up there a fair amount with CBPBA members on our boat. And of course Bumper Bash is in a couple of weeks. Marty runs his boats about 100 hours a year so I'm sure you'll see it around. The deal involved a trade also so it was in the low 300's, but a pretty good number on the trade. As I said Inland was pretty good to work with.

For 37SR- they did a coast to coast relay with 2 boats, with a hand off in Memphis. That sum***** looks HUGE on the trailer. :D

GLH 07-07-2008 12:43 PM

I saw this boat when Tres Martin had it for sale in FL in the winter 0f 07.

It is a sweet ride. I would not have any issues with the drive and rudder either. If you loose a motor your going to come home on idle most of the time anyway.

trc2 07-07-2008 03:37 PM

saw the boat at red eyes on sunday looks great
