Lake Wales / Lakeland - Florida
Alright all you central Florida residents. What's there to do in this area?? I'm going to be traveling to and from the Lake Wales area for the next few weeks... I’ve been looking into the area and it seems I'm only going to be 1 1/2 hours from Tampa (Sweet! :D) and looks to be about 2 hours from the Atlantic. I've spent time in south Florida and up in the Pan Handle but not so much in this area.
Sooo... Good eats / bars?? Marinas?? Boat Dealerships?? Hit me with whatcha got! :drink: :D Thanks. David |
Major League Baseball Spring training starting the 2-3 week of Feb.. Cleveland Indians in Winterhaven, about 10 miles from Lake Wales.

If you have any interest in aviation (judging from your avatar), one of the best known seaplane schools is in Winter Haven. They fly 1940's J-3 cubs on straight floats. If you already have your license, you can get your seaplane rating in 2 days, otherwise I'm sure they can give you an introductory flight. It is a lot of fun: http://www.gate.net/~seaplane/

Nothing....
Nothing.... and more nothing......:D There's always Bok Tower and gardens http://www.boksanctuary.org/index.html or that hill that your car seems to roll uphill backwards. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spook_Hill |
