I've always like the cabins in the Formula 38. Best of both worlds in my opinion. Although if cabin is more important than helm, go with the 38 ZX.

Love the cabin on the PowerQuest 380. Spent many nights on Lake Cumberland in comfort and can also take the hard stuff on Lake Michigan. Runs in the mid 80's with 525's. Awesome boat!!!

If Formula would put those Twin 480hp Yanmars like I had in my last 43 Nortech that would be sweet. You would get that 400ss probably into the high 60's maybe 70 and then it would be more fun. I personally like the 400ss for its room and functionality. Ive also had a chance to be on my buddys 48 Fountain cruiser in KW this year, thats one big bad boy.:D

I've said this before, I LOVE MY BOAT when I'm rafted and overnighting I dont like the speed thats it.... Cruising at 37 and Top speed is low 50's which is great for a cruiser I thought I could deal with it but obviously I need a different boat...:D:D This thread is actually alot of what I'm looking for, I want to do some Poker Runs, Overnighting is a must, and I'm 6'-6" so the cabin will need to be good size in the new boat, as where the size of my 400SS is perfect. If it sells it sells if not it will be cleaned, waxed and ready to go on April 1 on the lift!!!!!!!!!:evilb::evilb:

I know Sydwayz has chimed in multiple times. . . . :)

You really should look at an Active Thunder. It meets your criteria - speed, price etc. Their cabins are quite nice. My buddy Macklin bought an AT last May. The cabin is stunning! The boat will run over 80 w/ 525's!

Formula's are nice too.

My thoughts exactly, and it's a big 38' in every sense of the word... The huge cabin is a great benefit though.

It's been awhile, you are on your 3rd 43' WOW!!! I have to agree, the 43' NorTech has a killer cabin, just a tad bit shy of the 50'. We have been on both the 43' and the 50', lots of room and first class!!! Trond & the boys at NorTech are the best!!!!

Also, like some of the other threads Ive been read where when running hard all the ammenities fall down or apart, totally not true. Never had a problem, extremely solid powerboat, not only for going fast but comfortable as well. Good Luck in your decision. Jeff

First class blue water boat!!!!!

Jeff, same on my 38', hung headliner on fiberglass cover marine plywood. Again, very nice!!! Here is a couple from my Powerplay. You going to be in Miami for the show? Robbie

Need more info as far as cabin options...I would think headroom would be a main concern. 38 ft 380 Powerquest "Avenger" has 5'9" headroom in a spacious cabin with alot of amenities
Also whether they want to trailer or not. The best spacious cabin is a Black thunder

CORRECTION: Headroom 5' 7" (67")

Here are the pics of the cabin of my 37 AT. They are all custom and well appointed. If you want headroom, the 39 and 43 Nortech are the best in class, foot for foot.

f311fr1 02-04-2008 05:36 PM

The Black Thunder Sport Crusier has 6'10" of head room at the cabin entrance and 6' at the foot of the queen size bed.

Here is the cabin on my little and old 322 Baja. Pretty big for such a small boat. 5' 6" head room, a head that you can sit in and not hit your head or knees, plus heat and air.
But the engine compartment sucks.

Jeff, I am so sorry to hear that. My thoughts and Prayers to you and your Father!!! It is so hard to watch our fathers, who are bigger than life, and our heros beaten down with cancer. It is one of the hardest things in life to witness. My dad is 2 1/2 surviving with esophagus cancer, so far! He is a shell of his former self, before, 6'6", 260 lbs, now 185 lbs. Quality of life sucks, lots of issues. He hates life at this point. I'm happy that he is still here.

We will look for you later this year, Destin, Maybe, Royal Purple. Any way, boats take a back seat. Will be thinking about you and your family, God Bless!!! Robbie

I just sold the AT and we enjoyed the cabin for 5 years and it did everything that we ever wanted it too, Spent 10 days on it once in Key West. We just recently sold the AT for the Black Thunder and we both hope we enjoy it half as much as we have the AT. My wife still walks by the AT and give's it a big hug sometimes. We just both wanted more space, we spend alot of time on the boat during the summer every weekend. Alot more staying on the hook is starting. You will not go wrong with the AT and the ride is incredible. When the 43 AT comes out , we will be in the market........ in a couple years. Here are the difference in the cabins.
