Maybe he meant to search for pirelli flooring. It looks exactly the same, only rubber.

i called 4-5 different distributors before i bought mine.
Sara at Plasteak had the best price and excellent service.

How long have you had yours Steve? What do you think of it? Is it a pita to install? Would you put it down in place of carpet? Thanks

Steve_H 02-03-2008 12:32 PM

been using it for several years now in 2 different boats (both came with carpet). love it. easy to clean and easy of the feet. never installed it myself but it cant be that difficult. make a cardboard pattern. apply the correct glue to BOTH the flooring and the floor. dont try to install below 65.

From where??? $23 a yard so 6' wide roll and 3' of that is only $23?

teamsynergy 02-03-2008 07:17 PM

thats is way cheap... I was quoted almost 400.00 from Jennifer at lonseal for 6' x 8' piece....

teamsynergy 02-03-2008 07:50 PM

I need a 8' x 6' of londeck coin in eggshell white... also a quart of the adhesive... email me [email protected]

Thanks

teamsynergy 02-03-2008 08:06 PM

thats right there with lonseals quote... I actually want the londeck coin, not the loncoin II. I ahve the sample book and there is a difference... plus the color I want is the egg shell, not the birch. Thanks though, I am gonna try and talk to Sara tomorrow to see if I can get a better rate...

Jammin' 02-03-2008 09:39 PM

Loncoin II is listed for moisture prone interior spaces. I was planning to use this one on the cockpit floor of my boat. Is there a problem with using it on an exterior application? The Londeck Coin doesn't come in the color I want.

teamsynergy 02-04-2008 06:21 AM

Yeah, I am right there with you on the color, that is why I picked the londeck... the birch white just didn't look right...

Indy 02-04-2008 07:06 AM

You might want to think of putting that down with their contact adhesive, if you ever damage the floor it'll be easier to pull up rather than trying with the epoxy.

I'm going to answer my own question. We're talking about a boat that will be kept indoors except when in use and covered if it's ever outside otherwise. UV resistance won't be an issue. Loncoin II is fine. Correct?

fantastixvoyage 02-04-2008 08:58 AM

I've used lonseal in my last two boats. When installing I like to start in one corner and do small sections at a time. Apply to both floor and flooring. Key is to wait until it feels dry yet very sticky to the touch. Make sure its lined up perfect and press down. It will now be locked in position. Apply to the next area and repeat. Does add to the time but worth it.

A couple things I've learned:

Use in a properly ventilated area. I didn't use the lonseal glue but rather one from Home Depot that works great. However when I applied in tight confines I awoke to someone pulling me out by my feet...only out for a minute but coulda been real bad.

Also, buy a weighted hand roller to roll out the flooring when done. Bubbles are common the next day as gas develops but usually disappear with rolling. If not use a needle to let the air out and then roll out the bubble.

Jammin' 02-04-2008 12:35 PM

Sorry to beat this one to death, but it's time for me to get this stuff.

Has anyone used contact adhesive instead of epoxy? Did it hold up as well?

Do these places send out color sample swatches? The print outs are suspect.

fantastixvoyage 02-04-2008 12:37 PM

Yes I have. I'll post what I have used when I check the can. Available at home depot.

fantastixvoyage 02-04-2008 12:38 PM

One last thing...I had loncoin in my first boat with lonseal. Wasn't too impressed as it was fairly slippery when wet. Now have the diamond plate design...night and day difference.

teamsynergy 02-04-2008 02:11 PM

Ok, for the second part of the question... any good installers out there in Michigan area...? I live in south bend, IN which is right there on the michigan/indiana border.... Just don't want to screw it up...

I was thinking the same thing. But I think the $23.00 a yard stuff might be just the basic lonseal, not the loncoin or other embossed products they sell.....or maybe I can't do the math either????

Jammin' 02-08-2008 10:40 AM

Ordered Loncoin II today. 6'x6' for $270.

Thats 4 sq yds @ $67.50/yd. Is that for the material only?Sounds kinda steep to me.

$270 was without the glue. Sara is the person that I dealt with at PlasTeak.

Im in the commercial flooring business. If you can buy LoncoinII for $23/yd, I would buy a truckload and sell it back to Lonseal.

That makes much more sense than $23/yd.

Im not really looking to get into the single cockpit orders, but if anyone wants to buy some quantity of commercial flooring, Please let me know.

So what happened to the $23 a yard price you first quoted????????????????????

And how many yards in a full roll?

Nobody here is talking about truckloads. They are for 4-6 yard pieces.

Beautiful interior, Steve_H. I know it's off topic, but do you have an exterior shot you can post or link to pics?
