Default Help With Race Fuel ?'s

looking into buying another jet boat, although this one is a healthier step up from the last. i know, maybe wrong forum, but my questions are about the fuel. the boat has 13 to 1 comp. he says it requires 110 octane. not to mention the 200 shot of N2o for those little bursts. i will need to buy a 55 gallon drum to keep in the garage. my questions are how long is this fuel good for once opened. will it evaporate or de-concentrate (if thats a word) if you know what im getting at. how long is the drum good for? i plan on using the boat every weekend, just a little worried about stepping into the cam2 or race fuel world for everyday use. any help or advice would be great. thanks guys

The race fuel will last much longer than regular gasoline without deteriorating. I don't think you would have to worry about it going bad in even a year.

well if thats the case it seems to change my attitude alot towards this boat. i thought it would have been the other way around. i know some of you guys are laughing at the fact im worried about 55 gallon drum or two maybe, when yours holds probably close to 250 and it doesn't last a full weekend. sorry about that just looking for info and facts about the fuel. thanks

Zimm, that fuel (leaded 110) will last for years as long as you seal the drum back up tightly, and store it in a place away from sunlight. We store 16-18 drums of 110 in my garage every season. I usually buy it in the winter when the price is down a little.

Racing gas is dangerous to store in a garage. Not a good idea. Be careful with sparks
