OSO We Need Your HELP!!

Boaters in the 1000 Island Region of the St. Lawrence River have been plagued over the last several years with the water falling to dangerously low levels as our season progresses. The result is a shorter boating season and an impact to the wildlife that relies on "The River" as their home. This is the first time someone has spoken up and actually done something to help change the issue with the control of said levels.

Please take a minute to sign this petition!

Maybe Steve can make this a sticky.

Thanks in advance!

Dave

That petition sounds like some serious Nature Nazi sh!t, but as a secondary factor affecting boating so I signed it:D

And wrote this in my comments:

This issue is important to me due to the fact I vacation in this area and am an avid performance boater. The lower lake levels directly affect my boating season and I feel it is unjust for vacationers such as myself. Others that vacation in the area, like me, can and will consider vacationing in new areas due to the negative impact the water level issue has on them.

I have an AWESOME powerpoint video of the 1000 islands area. How do I post it?

I to signed it! I spend alot of time on here but do not post alot, I am fairly new to the boating scene, so I am just kinda taking it all in, and trying to learn as much as I can. This site has been great, alot of help. I like to see things like this, we need to protect our waterways the best we can, in this industry it is not far fetched to see lakes start prohibiting boats like ours and even fishing boats someday. Here in Northern Minnesota they are already horning in on some of our major waterways and channels trying to make them BWCA. (BOUNDRY WATERS CANOE AREAS). I know it has nothing to do with this particular situation but it is just another loss for us just the same as you. The more they push in the smaller the lake is for us, in time it wont even pay to have a boat any bigger than 10ft around here.

I signed it. Man what a ton of signatures. We scattered my grandfathers ashes on the St Lawrence. I can't believe anybody would try to destroy it like that.
