We had to heat it up to get our trim tabs off without taking the gel coat with it ..good luck

heat is right. HOT heat... just right tho or you'll scorch the gel behind/around it!

Once all the bolts are out try this:

Use two vise grips and wrap piano wire around each end and clamp the vise grips. Then run the wire back and forth behind the item to be removed pulling away from the boat so you dont scratch the gel.

For exhaust tips you should be able to go around the flange. Then you can pull them without the gel.

Then have fun removing the rest!

A really sharp razor blade and a lot of patience plus heat and try the stuff you have listed

5200 is wicked tough. we swapped off a pair of 2.5 merc race motors that had 5200 just around the bolt holes. No bolts and the motors stayed on the boat. me in the well, my buddy jumping on the cav plate and a third prying on the bracket to get em off.

I got frustrated and just pulled.....tips came off along with one inch of glass.....

I'm not sure it was not easier to just reglass !!

back a couple months ago i replaced the gas fill on my boat that was caulked w/5200.was a leroyjones to remove.my boat guy told me to use combustion chamber cleaner to desolve the 5200........worked like a champ.was carefull and applied it to the area backside,let it sit a day and reapplied 2nd time and it poped right off.if you use it on the gel-coat,i would test a area first.
