Opinions on Sonic 26 Prowler?
I'm still shopping for a boat and there are so many.
So far I keep coming back to the Baja Outlaw 25. I'd like a large single engine boat. Other options I've looked at include the Sunsation 288 and Fountain 29 Fever.
It seems that the Sunny's and Fountains are most costly. I'm sure you get what you pay for but where do I get the most bang for my buck?
I've recently seen the Sonic 26 Prowler. Theres one in the classified for $50K that's an '04 with a 496HO.
That sounds like a smoking deal! But I'm pretty sure it's actually the smallest boat of the ones I've mentioned. Speaking of size... would the Fountain 29 Fever or 27 Fever be closer in size to a Outlaw 25? The Outlaw 25 with swim platform is 26'8" according to Baja. The Sunny is 27'8". How about the Sonic and Fountain?

I have a 27 Fever for sale, big power. But I would have to say that bang for buck the 29 Fountain is a faster and more stable hull. Cabins are cabins, hot and uncomfortable unless you go big.

I like the Sonic boats, however last summer I was on a 26 and honestly it felt really small. I'm sure it's a great boat, just felt cramped to me, both in the cabin and cockpit. I was also in a 26 Outlaw this past weekend and it felt equally tight. I had to kneel down just to get into the cabin (I'm only 6'). I would think that same money on a bit older Sunsation288 would make you much happier. Plus people see pretty decent speeds on the 288 with a 496HO. And resale should be better. I would guess that the 27 fever would be closer to the 25 outlaw. IMO.

Ran into a guy at the Miami Show who has one and hates it ..... handles poorly and several other issues as well.......other than that I have never been on one myself.
