The article says the engine fell out. :confused:
So, now no mention of a pole? :confused:

Either way, total bummer. Glad the occupants are out and okay.

NO IT DOESNT SAY THE MOTOR FELL OUT !!! LMFAOOOOO it says " but the hatch cover to the motor fell into the water

Names 2 of the 5 occupants. Owner / operator was named as Paul McCullers of Lee County, FL

We arent in Florida full time so dont really know, but do you guys run at speed at night time? On the lake we live on in Indianapolis, the rule is 10mph a half hr before sunset. Have only boated at night a couple times while down in Florida and that was just on way back from restaraunts and such but always just a bit faster than idle. Cant imagine trying to navigate the ICW up on plane in the dark. Hope everyone is ok

only if they were traveling in a straight line...5 guys paddeling a stepped hatch go to fast to safely turn unless said hatch is properly trimmed and 3 of the 5 only paddle at quarter speed....
