The article says the engine fell out.
So, now no mention of a pole? Either way, total bummer. Glad the occupants are out and okay. |

Officials on the scene added the men actually had to paddle for over two hours, while sitting on top of the engine hatch, just to get back to shore.

I'm gonna assume that it was a non-stepped hatch, because they coulda made it in, like, 10 minutes if it was. :cool-smiley-027:

Here is the latest from the Ft. Myers News-Press
Appears all are out of the hospital. Glad they are alright. This article does not mention hitting a pole but rather a turn and roll over. Names 2 of the 5 occupants. Owner / operator was named as Paul McCullers of Lee County, FL http://www.news-press.com/apps/pbcs..../80220045/1075 |
Glad they are alright.
That Cig has got to be busted to hell. What a shame. |
We arent in Florida full time so dont really know, but do you guys run at speed at night time? On the lake we live on in Indianapolis, the rule is 10mph a half hr before sunset. Have only boated at night a couple times while down in Florida and that was just on way back from restaraunts and such but always just a bit faster than idle. Cant imagine trying to navigate the ICW up on plane in the dark. Hope everyone is ok
