Well? How did it run?!?!?!?!?

SHARKEY-IMAGES 02-20-2008 08:27 PM

For not having test time to dial it in, I would say it ran real well !

The boat looks to be able to achieve 110 to 112 with ease once dialed in.

Once we got outside the cut the seas got much bigger but you would only know by looking at it. The boat didn't seem to care what it was running in. It flew extremely level whenever we saw air time. Which was quite a bit. The boat was also very quiet and had a different sound to it. You could actually hold a conversation without yelling. :D

didn't ride the boat but checked it out....beautiful, but not sure about the fabric in the interior....almost looked like suede....maybe not that uncommon I had just not seen it used before

Thats kinda of what Ive herd, I was told that it had an amazing ruff water ride, and it "turns like an f-1 boat!" What is the purpose of the bussel extention over the drives, transom lift? possible rudder perphaps? just curious.
Thanks.

What Power?

Cash Bar 02-20-2008 10:53 PM

700's I think.

OL40SVX 02-20-2008 11:00 PM

Yes, its a 700 boat. The bow never flies high on this boat! We ran 80-85 in some rollers with chop on top about 3-4ft. The boat ran absolutly awesome!! It planned with ease kind of like a cat. Like Sharkey said the boat didnt really care what it was running in. We hit 106 with five on board and close to full fuel. Whats cool is all you hear is the whine of the superchargers. The interior was top knotch on this boat for being in the mold only a week before the show! OL stepped it up on this SL 41!!

Jassman 02-21-2008 07:05 AM

what was the headroom down below, and how does this new model compare to their 42. Thanks Jeff

Cam-shaft 02-21-2008 07:28 AM

Did it have Mercury's new muffler system? Kinda looks like it from the black hoses at the back of the engines.
Thanks, cam-shaft

38Roars 02-21-2008 09:30 AM

Dose anyone know what the asking price of this NEW OL?

legacy 02-21-2008 10:02 AM

the boat was awesome and those are some impressive #'s that it runs for being brand new. but for only being 1 foot shorter that a 42 ol, it really seems lake alot smaller boat. just my .02

For some reason all of them up front in the Fountain booth were camera shy. They saw the size of my lens  and they either turned away or covered their faces.:party-smiley-004: I told them that was no way to try to get in a magazine...:D and I walked away... :(

The blonde was caught by accident. I was focusing between the two pillars and she walked in front of the camera. That's my story and I am sticking to it !

Proves my point on how REDICULOUS boat prices are!!! Especially if it's built so quickly. You KNOW there's some good profit margin built into those boats!!

Whipple Charged 02-22-2008 08:24 PM

I went for a ride on sunday afternoon, we quickly went 110mph with 6 people, 120 gallons of fuel and what I would consider a "quick run". Had more to go, but it was just a customer demo. I was extermely impressed.

If you see how they are mfg'd, you would understand a bit more. Interior doesn't take nearly as long as rigging the boat, laying it up, etc. All the carbon kevlar, the amount of men just laying up the hull, the baking process....Pretty impressive. Also have to look at how much tooling is, warranty for the future, etc. Very expensive, not to mention very flexible for so many custom features. High production, same everytime will be cheaper, being able to build something one-off, custom that still works does cost more.

If the 700 boat ran 110, it is going to be really exciting too see what one will run with 1200 in it, dustin!!!!!!!!!!

I do not think there is much profit in these boats, not like most think.

SHARKEY-IMAGES 02-23-2008 05:22 AM

Just one look at this can tell you it is not cheap to build !

Airtime,

You may want to relocate the quote brackets.

My quote stops at the link... ;)

Either way, carbon is not cheap, especially if there is a shortage.

Ya, I think it would be incredible. 1000hp is over 135mph, can't imagine what dual 1200's would do!! :D Already accelerates so hard, might need to wear a Hans device during testing :D

legacy 02-23-2008 09:13 PM

All I can say is 1200's, are going to be insane in the 41!
