If it floats for $800 I don't see how he can go wrong.

tell him to goto www.sea-doo.net its a forum just for sea-doos owned by Glen Perry of Perry Performance Group in southern Florida. They are a sea-doo dealer and performance shop specifically for sea-doos. they have great packages to make any year/ model sea-doo faster

If he doesn't buy it let me know. I will buy it for my son.

I have a 1997 Speedster with twins, and it is a blast. I bought it to pull the kids on a tube with and they love it. That being said it is the roughest boat I have ever ridden in. During the week when you are on the lake by your self it is great, but on the 4th of July you need to leave it on the trailer.

Factory Pipe makes pipes for it.
Many carb and head manufacturers.

Options are endless for that motor(s).

Does it need the MPEM board, they were big $ 5 years ago....I would check to see what they sell for now....it could be way out of control.

I wouldn't mod a Seadoo. Nothing but problems unless you are looking to do stuff to enhance the flow IE impeller, nozzle, ride plate, intake grate. I would stay away from engine mods all together. If you are looking to spend some money on the engine, the aftermarket pipe is the best bang for the buck keep in mine you will have to fine tune the carb afterward though.

1995's were pretty simple engines, none of that security stuff on them yet (at least from what I remember)... not sure what board it could possibly need.

I had a 1994 and it was one of the best boats I ever owned. I must have had close to 1000 hours on it when I sold it... towed it to the Bahamas behind a 42' Ocean sport fish and used it to go island hopping. I used it to troll for dolphin, bottom fish, wake board/kneeboard, and just drive around. Easy to dock, easy to maintain, and fast (55 MPH, plenty fast for a 14 footer). it's strong point, and the strong point of all jets, is acceleration. Un friggen believable how fast it hops on plane...

I took care of it, but I also used the living hell out of it... Sea Doo had to repair the hull once because it regularly was used in the ocean (3+ footers easy). No, it's not going to ride like a Cadillac, but it took some serious abuse.
