Default 496 Chirps WTF

Receving fast chirps from the alarm sounder when the ignition key is turned. The first time the ignition is turned on the chrips are momentary and then you can hear the fule pump prime and chrips stop. If you turn the key off and back on again the chirps persist and you can hear two relays on the clacking on top of the engine.

If they stop when you start it, its normal. Its more than likely the low oil pressure alarm. The key on activates all the electrical, including the sensors, and since its not running, there is no oil pressure and the alarm sounds.

It almost sounds like a loose connection. I have had a boat in the past that did that when the cable was loose on the starter. Let us know what you find out. You should get a 2 to 3 second steady alarm and you should hear the relay click on the engine and then it should stop, upon key up. The steady alarm doesnt seem right at all.

The problem is intermetint, after a few turns you might get the 1 beep and it will start right up. It will fire after several attemps are made. Almost like it resets itself.

Pull the canon plug and push it back on. Loose connection. Very common.
