Single Outboard 106 mph!!!
2 Attachment(s)
Congratulation the Craig G!
Craig ran his Trick Powerboats 21 Sport to 106mph today! Craig made several passes on the Colorado River today. 106mph down river and 104 mph up river. This puts Craig right on heels of Kim Brodersen (Denmark) who ran his 300X powered 21 Sport to 108mph . |
Wow, that is moving !! The power made by todays outboards is truely amazing !!
|
amazing
|
Congrats, I would be happy with mid 60's in my 24 pantera
|
Impressive speeds!
I believe Dirk Pitt, who posts on S&F, has seen over 100mph consistently with either a dialed in 21 Superboat or 22 Progression (v-bottom). |
has he tried any of the bottom coatings like KISS Cote? That can pick up a few mph right there
|
That is really fast.
What prop was he running?? |
Jigsaw,
I know Dirk is running some good numbers in his boat. He has contacted us a couple of times about set-up. Stainless, He installed transom mounted water pick up to allow a higher X dimension. Thanks for positive the comments Here is some video of the twin 250XS boat http://youtube.com/watch?v=ifLYBkW2t6c And some from a 225 power 21' that we sent to Austria http://youtube.com/watch?v=3SI9GBGD0XE&feature=related |
Very impressive.
|
Jeff,
Congrats!!!! Very impressive. I was also very impressed with the ride we got with you. Much more stable and in control that I would have thought. Speed wasn't to shabby either. Later, Mark |
When an outboard is set up right, they are impressive. Doug
|
Jeff,
I saw on your new website that there is a 26 footer in the works. Realy looks nice. Great price for a twin engine boat!!!!! When do you think it will be ready??? That would be great for some of the fun runs up your way.... Please keep us updated with more info. Thanks John |

I believe Joker sold a 28 Joker to someone in the north east that is doing well over 100mph now.

We had one of our 21's run 108 mph with a 300X. It sold to a tunnel boat racer in Denmark and has ran 110.
|
Thats impressive. Great job guys.
|
You guys are crazy going those speeds on the water! Espically in those cat boats!!!
I would love to feel what that's like in a 21! I know the faster you go the shorter the boat feels. 106 in a 21 must feel nuts!! |
I used to have 20' tunnels that had 2.5 race motors. 116mph. I had a 22' tunnel with twin 2.5s set to kill that ran 120. Those boats would scare me to death. The sensation of speed is much greater than going 160 in a big cat. Too many of my outboard friends were blowing over so that convinced me to go bigger.
|
The blow over factor got me too !!!! Guess I'm just too old.
|
About half of the boats we sell are going to Europe and the Middle East to F1 and/or F2 racers. So they are use to flying their boat.
They run pretty neutral trim and never feel too flighty. My twin 250XS 21' runs 115mph using 34 cleavers and it feels even more stable than a single @ 106mph. Here is a video of it running. There is a slide show at the beginning and the video starts about half way through. This is the boat in the 2008 Mercury Racing Brochure http://youtube.com/watch?v=ifLYBkW2t6c |

Nice video and pic's. Looks very stable and not at all like flying my old hydrostream @ 95 running on the cav plate !!!!! Love to get a ride in one of those .
|
Hunster,
If you can drive it like that, my hat's off to you! That looks crazy! |
Yeah , it gets real hairy. Just dont get out of it fast either of the bow is straight up. That old johnson was pretty worked and had amazing acceleration , thats what I miss , getting thrown back when you punch it!
