I lost my little friend Lucky today
I got myself a little kitten about seven weeks ago to keep me company since I moved to Chicago. Last night she started to act lathargic. Within a couple of hours it was obvious that she was really sick I stayed up with her all night trying to make her comfortable. I took her to the vet early this morning and he confirmed my worst fear. By the time we got to the vet, she couldn't stand up or lift her head. Her eyes were blank. The vet confirmed she was terminal with lukemia. He said that I could spend upwards of $2K for him to treat her, which I agreed to immediately. He then went on to explain that if he did everything he could she mostly likely still wouldn't survive. It was then I decided to end her suffering.
She went from a seemingly healthy and active cat to dead within less than 48 hours. Unbelievable

When I was a little kid we lost a cat to Leukemia. Horrible. Very sorry for you loss. Hopefully you can save another cat's life and give one from the shelter a good home.

Sorry to hear about your little buddy....It's hard when a pet gets sick...I'm nursing our little Min-Pin who has had to endure two separate operations in the last three weeks due to bladder stones... He's lying next to me in a babies playpen trying to get comfortable...
When we first noticed something wrong and took him into the emergency vet clinic I knew it would be expensive.
But he's the one who greets me at the door ever evening and they gave a good prognosis that it could be fixed...
I hope you can find another one to keep you company.
