That's a great looking boat Will... Congratulations....:D
Being able to have your wife next to you and your kids safe in the back seat or cabin will be excellent. Good luck and please say hi to your dad for me. |

The interior changes could be as simple as changing the carpet. Again the orange and red combo just doesn't work for me, but that is an easy fix. That and spin the toilet around some so it's not all jammed up in the corner. We'll start there and see what happens inside.

Congrats Will! I like the paint, perosnally. I think it is wild. Love the staggered set up.........Enjoy it. i am sure I will see you at the beach soon or hear you.....:)

Very Nice!

Congrats. I like the paint on the Cig!
|
Congrats, I like the center steering, since I only boat with women, (My wife and daughters) I wouldn't have to worry about the "Homo" factor!:D
Should do alot better at the gas pump also, I would think! Dean |
Will your Apache was at Todds the same time my Black Thunder was there. I like your new Cig. If I can sell my BT an Active Thunder is on my short list.
|
Congrats, I remember seeing that when it was new up here in CT. The skull on the side is Chris from Ocean Performance with the bandana and everything. Saw the boat at fastboats during the show and it looked real good!! Look forward to seeing it at Jax!!!

Love that paint, Super Bad, Congradulations.
|
Congrats on the purchase of your new boat HD!

HD
That boat is awesome and I do like the originality of the center steer. I docked next to that boat at KWPR in 05 and my wife thought that was the best graphics there that weekend. |
Will....Great looking boat.....Enjoy it.
Just my 2 cents... GET NEW HEADERS !!!!!!! before you have the headaches that I had with the F-2. They are cheap compared to an engine or two or in my case four. Even when they are repaired they are never the same. LS |
Talk to Biggus about this boat as his friend used to own it. I believe some header work has already been done. He would know.
|
The boat looks awesome! I always liked that boat and agree with your subtle changes. It would look even better with a matching dash and the removal of the orange.
Good luck with it! |
Good Luck Buddy and hopefully I will get a chance to see it for myself come this summer for the Ocean City Race.
Nothing But The Best, DPT |
Congrats and great looking boat Will. Good luck with it.
Another bit of advice however... Have those "oh-$hit" rear seat grab handles removed. They look cool and I bet they work great. However, its a fact that people fall on boats. They are just sitting there waiting to absolutely destroy someone. Have some strong nylon webbing put in that comes out from beneath the seat when needed by passengers, and tucks away when not needed. I've been asked to put handles like such in the ATs, but we won't do it for the above reason. Besides, they ride so well you don't need to hold on anyhow. :D :drink: |
sweet I like the paint, but see what you mean about the orange carpet it needs some thing custom like the skull in it.:D I had a ride in biggus top gun it looks pissa looking down that long hull going 80 plus.

Thank you all for the kind words. I am excited about the Cigarette, but sad to leave the Apache. I put my heart and soul into this Apache and it will certainly be sad to let it go.

I was watching "Apache-Battle of the Seas" last night. I love the part when that 45 hits so hard it douses the cameraman in the helicopter.

Though I had to push the plans back a week, the Apache left the driveway this morning for what will probably be the very last time. :( We are flying down tomorrow afternoon to meet the transporter and will be doing the sea trial and inspection of the Cigarette on Thursday. We'll be home Friday night, so I'll post the outcome and some pictures then.
|
I still really want that boat HotDuck, I paid a lot of money for a "refundable" sea trial of the boat and didn't buy it over me being pissed off for the situation of the sea trial. I never got the deposit back from Tod, and he didn't even go t jail! I am still kicking myself in the ass for not buying it. I still want the boat, but can't do it right now. Drop me an email to [email protected].

The deal is done and the Apache has been traded to Fastboats. We did the sea trial on Thursday and everything went well. I am still wondering if I did the right thing, but I think that the Cigarette will work out well.

Here is a link to a short video clip of the boat running with the rooster tail starting to rise as we pick up speed. This thing throws a natural tail (no positive trim) just like our Gladiator did. http://media.putfile.com/Cig-39 |
that thing puts out a tail like a #6..... good stuff will, i guess you back to the 450, and sellin the pete......

The decision and debate about trading the Apache really went on in my head right up until I signed the papers. No joke. I really loved that boat, so this Cig has a lot to live up to. Here is a short clip of the Cigarette at the ramp. http://media.putfile.com/Cig-39-2 |
good stuff....
|
That Cigarette is a 10 and I would leave it as is. Congratulations
|

Ok. Now who wants the Peterbilt? :D I have to send out a few promised e-mails about it now that it is available and then I'll get an ad up in the classifieds in the next few days. I am gonna bombard this thing and market it to the horse people, the boat people and the car racing people. It could be useful to anybody towing a big trailer because it will already handle both gooseneck and bumper pull trailers and a 5th wheel hitch can easily be added.
|
Yeah, I've found that Apaches are almost impossible to sell for a decent price. I was plagued with a 47 footer with no power. The thing was for sale all winter and nobody even called about it. It was a triple engine boat that used to have a trio of Chief engines. It would cost at least $250K for the engines alone, not to mention all of the re-rigging and everything else that needs to be done on a 20+ year old boat. Nobody in their right mind is going to put that much money into a boat when they could easily get a brand new Fountain for the same price with a warranty and no headaches.
I finally said the hell with it and went to a local performance boat dealer. I asked him what he'd give me for it and we agreed on $10K for the boat and trailer. He'll probably sell it for twice that, but I needed to get rid of that monster. I got tired of my neighbors saying, "And all this time I thought the Titanic was sitting at the bottom of the ocean." That dealer got a hell of a lot more than he bargained for, that's for sure.:angry-smiley-055: |
