Polished vs Wet Sanded Props

Hey guys, It's been nice the last couple days so I decided to start working on the boat getting it ready for the season. But anyways I have SS 4 blade mirage props, and I was going to polish them up to a mirror finish but after talking to my brother "Sloman" he said the props are faster if I wet sand them so they are a little rough. So who knows the truth, whats better? Whats the difference? Is it noticeable in MPH? Thanks Guys

Might try posting in the prop section. The lower unit and bottom of the hull works well wet sanded.I dont think the wet sanded props will make much differance on your hull set up.

There is no such thing as 4 blade Mirage props.

Satin finish is just slightly faster, but its a very minimal difference. You probably won't notice a difference.

Satin will be just a touch faster, but not by much.

I did some testing back years ago with a now-defunct (long story) prop shop, Houston Propellers.

For what it's worth, see here:

The best pair of props I ever had were ruined when I sent them to a prop shop for a touch up and they returned them polished. Lost about 5 mph and gained rpm's.

Some people claim having them satin is faster, other claim polished is faster. Brett at BBlades says that it doesn't matter. THe only thing that having them polished does is give them bling. If they are already polished, I would leave them that way.
