Great pictures. How are the turbines in wave hopping? Can you throttle back and forth like a gas engine between waves?

We burn Jet A , Kerosene, Diesel/gas, Bio fuel is our big push right now.


Throttling the boat in seas. very similar to Piston. Not quite as much throttleback though. However... The challenging part as any race team will tell you is finding the fastest you can go "the zone" but not pushing the equipment harder than it can last to finish the race(that's the hardest by far).

Consequences of a miss ....overspeeding the turbine (very bad).

Looks like a blast, 6's is when it starts to get fun. I was always curious of what the throttling was like with a turbine in the ruff stuff. I would guess you really have to be on your game to stay ahead of lag in spooling up and down. :cool:

Does it eat prop blades much on the miss throttleback?

I,m all over the biodeisel.

Have you actually tried B100?

I don't really want to speak for Marc, but I guess I will anyway...that is the MTI "old boat."

Props- with the exception of our Elstrom's we rotate through our prop's every 3 races.

Correct this is the 2007 MTI. By no means an "old boat" see her perform in Biloxi this year.

Fuel- we have several formulas we are testing right now. Careful what you burn!

Yes the photo boat was slightly green that day :)


Scotty and I are off to Sebring to test "open wheel" Barber's for 3 days see if we can pick up something from the "car" guys" and get the reflexes up before the season starts. We'll post pics when we return
