floating docks
anyone have any experience with the drive on floating docks for performance boats (32-40 ft)
The area I am looking at does not allow for a lift type dock, and I'm limited to the two exitsing pilings to attach to. |
anyone????
here is a copy of what I'm looking at http://www.jetdock.com/38in_performa...lift-boats.asp |
JetDock is the only way to go. Highest quality you will find and they are well thought out. They cost more than others but are worth it. Saw a few big boats on them and was very impressed to say the least.

How easy/difficult is it to get the boat on (dock) and off (launch the boat) the jet dock ?
|
I wonder if it scratches some?

Call 1800jetdock and ask to speak with Kenny, Tell him PK told you to call. This was actually the first jet dock and our boat was originally used to build the prototype drive on jet dock. It has held up very good over the years, still looks and works great. You may have seen it in Powerboat magazine JetDock advertisement. They are now building jetdocks for the goverment, so if you want

The JET DOCK is undeniably the best lift available in the World today! The lifts are infinitely modular, changeable, expandable, adaptable, and reconfigurable. They come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty and provide unparalleled access to one's watercraft. The JET DOCK is the equivalent to having a full-time fork-lift operator standing-by your wet-slip to put your boat on a work-dolly when not being used. You've got complete access to safely walk-around the boat and perform general washing, waxing, maintenance, and simple tasks like covering and loading & unloading of provisions. YES, the JET DOCK is expensive; however, it proves itself to be the long-term least cost alternative. YES, the JET DOCK is expensive; however, then again, the highest quality and finest products in the World tend to be (e.g., Ferrari, Bentley, OuterLimits, Cigarette, NorTech, etc.).
One of JET DOCK's trademark slogans is: "FOR THE PRIVILEGED FEW . . ."; for good reason!!! |

My buddy had a 46 BT on a jet dock it worked good but you need like 8 feet of water becuse they are thick and go down deep. Also they have to float the whole time if the tide go's down and your boat is on it it will break.

Yes it was Jet Dock he was a dealer for them for about 2 years. They were going to put one at my house for my 42 Sonic but I didn't have enough water at low tide and was told by Jet Dock that a 16000# boat would break it if it sat on bottom. This was in 2002 so they may have changed some and my buddie is no longer a dealer. I have 4 Hi Tide lifts now so I havn't looked into them in 6 years.

They don't go down that far it was the size of the ballast tank under the back for the size one I was looking at. There is a lot under water like an iceberg.

how does it work it the salt water, will it build up with barnacles, and effect its lifting ability.
Are they taken out thru the winter, or do you just set it up, and forget about it. I appreciate all the feedback so far, looks like a cool system. |

For performance boats, there's nothing better than a JET DOCK. When your done checking out the consumer photos, take time to check out JET DOCK's military systems. JET DOCK is the premier dry-dock boatlift provider for the United States Coast Guard for their new fleet of 700+ 25 SafeBoats. What's awesome about the JET DOCK is consumers enjoy the same military tough construction and design as the U.S. Military systems. If the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard is choosing JET DOCK over all the other companies, that says volumes about the product. Clearly the military has financial resources to basically purchase whatever they want; their choice of JET DOCK has already done a lot of homework for those trying to determine "What's the best lift on the market today?" www.jetdock.com |
Beertruck, shoot me an email or give me a call and we will discuss your options with Jet Dock.

The area I am looking at does not allow for a lift type dock, and I'm limited to the two exitsing pilings to attach to. Sunstream in Auburn makes the nicest but they are EXTREMELY overpriced. Marine Floats is trying to unload a never used Hydrohoist. They won't tell you that they have it because of permitting gone bad though. It is Fire sale priced and brand new. There are (private) people out patrolling for non-permitted floats and turning people into the authorities. The main guy is between Horsehead and the Fox Island bridge. The Tacoma News Tribune had a big hero worship article on him about a year ago. |
actually looking at the other coast. I am looking at a house on Cape Cod that has a traditional dock allready, I don't think the powers to be will allow alterations to the piling system, but I could see them allowing the existing dock to be replaced with a jet dock style system.
Still in the investigation stages at this point. |
