3 Attachment(s)
I was snooping around at a storage place and found these 4 old Tunnel hulls,They had been there a long time ,maybe 80's? They had a name Impact on the back of them.2 looked like they had never been finished, one looked used and the other is kinda ruff. The lady at the desk said they belonged to a Doctor and he had just passed and they were tied up in a estate, She's suppose to call me when they come up for sale.Ya never know what ya might find out there:D Ill be going back and try and take my camera to get some better picks.
Kinda looks like something from a 007 film from the 70's.Squared off looking Rob:ernaehrung004: |

You must have a lot of time on your hands to be snooping at this time!!
Nice Find!!:ernaehrung004: |
Those are cool lookin. I would imagine they'd get a lot of looks on the water if restored!! Cool find.
|
nice find, i wonder if they want to sell???
|
Cool find, I wonder how they ride. BTW I am looking for a picklefork abount 19-20' looking to build another jetboat.
|
Switzer Craft made a hull that looked like those.
|
Not exactly a great comparison "boatwise", but this reminds me of the old warehouse oversea's that houses the Sultan of Brunei's old Cigarettes.
Bud and I talked about those boats at the Lauderdale Show and he said they're still over there locked in a warehouse. Stumbling on that place with the possiblitly of coming home with one, or all of them would be a dream! |

Now that is a cool find!
I've seen a lot of boats, but not these. Anyone wanna venture a guess on how they would ride, handle and how fast they would go? I wonder when and if they would pack air and lift. With that much area under it once it lifted whoa baby! |
Strip, before you do anything, please post on scream and fly,not general discussion,go to outboards and racing history. The knowledge there is unbelievable.

With that much area under it once it lifted whoa baby! The tunnel is shallow so it should pack a lot of air once it is at speed, but who knows at what speed. I would guess htat there is power trim back there to help with handling. I would bet also that new prop technology might make those things more user friendly. Great find. If they give them away cheap, I might be interested in one for the collection. |

They did?....... When? IF...... they were "raced"...I never saw them...and I've seen a few races. Very low dihedral...the term "IMPAC" probably refers to the shots your back takes in choppy water...... Frankly they look like crap. T2x |
