Graphics under your name?? HOW??
 

How do I put a small graphic under my name like so many of you have done???

BB profile on the left. Go to edit options.

Mike... go into your BB profile on the left of the screen, then into "edit options" I believe. The down to AVATOR... you wil find some in there... :D

You can also add your own....:cool:

i would have told you to go to ur bb profile... but 15 people already did... :D

Simple and easy to do.

Go to the left frame where it says BB Profile. Select User Options. Go all the way to the bottom where it says Avatar. You can change it from there. Click on the Avatar Button.

There will be some to choose from, or you can upload your own. It has to be a 50x50 graphic. I have a ton you can steal from the mid-Atlantic Powerboat Association board, including some rather funny cartoon characters. Just don't steal my dancing girl, it was a pain in the a$$ to get it sized to 50x50 and still look nice!! :D

Register on the board and go into the same User Options area, right click the avatar(s) you want and save to your local drive. Most are small enough, others you'll have to edit. Animation Shop is outstanding if you want to edit animated gifs.

Ok, I tried it....... I went to the BB store and lets see what happened when I picked out my candy..:D :D :D :cool: :cool:

Well, Hmmmmmmmmmm that wasnt what I was expecting.. I will try it again.

That's better, but it lost a bit of detail in the shrinking process.. more work to be done!!

Yes, shrinking or otherwise resizing is tricky. If you have a good editor like a Adobe, or Paintshop you can tweak the images and shrink them down to 50x50 but you'll almost always lose some detail.

Some of the avatars I have on our club sites are fine, others will have to be "cropped". You can right click and go to "Properties" when you see an image. It will tell you it's size. Take a look around at some other boards, they may have even more selections if you're like me, graphically challenged. You can also just do an internet search for "avatars", or looke for gifs or animated gifs and download some others.

Gadgets? How did you make out?

I tried to do some detail work in Paint, but was unsuccessful. For now it will have to do. I am out of time. I have to hit the road to get back to Bay City for work tomorrow. Maybe I can find something that will work better later. But at least I figured out how to post an Avatar and change the time..

Ok, I give up. I cannot get a image to appear. I copied a logo off the web, and even though it's totally unreadable (when scaled down to 50) it still won't post.

My photo works but the motor won't run.

You can go to 64 x 64 and 20,000 bytes now :)

Follow my directions again earlier in this thread. SFOcean says they've upped' the Avatar size. So that makes some more images available. Send me a message if you're still having probs.

Here's one for ya from my board:

Well here is the image that I'm trying to use. By the time I get it down to the correct size, I suspect that it won't be readable. It's between the size error, file size, and file type that I'm stuck. As you can tell, I'm not exactly photoshop literate....:rolleyes:

I tried to shrink it after increasing colors and rez, still pretty much unreadable. You'd be better off starting with a 64x64 new 24-bit color image and make up the logo/avatar from scratch.

ok, I figured out how to do it finally, and the problem I was having is that I wasn't checking the "use custom avtar" box, two lines above where you select browse to pick the file. Once I check the box, it worked!!

I tried shrinking it for you...here's how it coms out...

Here's the full size of mine, my dream ride...one of these days... 1998 993 C4S, All wheel drive, in zenith blue metallic, less than 50 made for US in this color, two years of looking I've found two, both with too many miles, good thing, I already have too many bills, but I do think keeping goals only drives you to achive them, so like I said, one day..., just like we all use to say about our boats, but there's always the next boat...

And I don't recall ever seeing a check box for the custom avitar. Betcha that was another thing that I was doing wrong.

hahaha, now that looks nice Cord. Glad you like it. Little tricks of the trade, a few extra minutes of effort and some good software is all it takes. :D
