One is made to go full throttle for 8-13 seconds.
One is made to go full throttle for 150-250 hours.

One has torque on it for about four seconds then it shifts...torque again for another six seconds and its over.

The other has CONTINUOUS torque on it for many hours of pleasurable fun..................until it lets go on the bottom end:(

Torque and HP curves are very different. Generally i believe they come in much lower and there is more separation between the peaks in a marine engine.

Thats what I would say, most drag big blocks in the 500 range I would say peek around 6500,unless it was a purpose built low rpm motor

A 500hp drag engine is simpler to build and can be done pretty easily with a small block. You can spin it to 7000rpms and don't have to worry about reversion caused by the cam or having it idle at 800rpms.

So in other words boat motors are built totaly different or just a little different ?
