It's the Mares. Sonic, Dakota, Mares all under one roof.

I just took a 36 Center Console out in 3-5s. Very good ride and nice and dry.

Did it ride as well as the Active Thunder CC?

Never been in one but I've heard tell of a notorious "Mares Hop", supposedly right in the sweet-spot of cruising speed.

I have been in a mares with 525s. At around 75-80 ish it hops non stop. Now i talked with a man who owned a 43 nortech and he said his did the same thing from 80-90. So he just drove over or under those speeds. Of course the mares with 525's only sees mid 80s so i can't get out of the hop. Guessing it just isn't quite packing enough air..

wish they finally get a new picture..that has been the demo boat for mares for over two years. The one i was in was the other demo boat. With all that, they are nice and roomy. Bow was the cabin big and so was the cockpit. If it had 700's probably be a good running boat. Maybe sonic will do something with it..

80 to 90 I could live with. If I'm at 80 in a big cat, I'm probably heading upstairs. A 70 MPH hop in a 525 boat would be a fatal flaw for me.

I wonder if anyone has ever tried a big tunnel tab on one? I saw one a couple of years ago priced very attractively. I thought about it but the hop scared me away.

well i can't say for sure where the hop was, wasn't driving, but, if memory serves it was 75+ closer to 80..but this boat topped out at around 85ish and it was there at that speed. I almost suspect a setup error as the boat does not respond to trim, the owner says he really can't or the boat hops worse. (drives could be wrong..or wrong props)
I really like the looks of the boat and its creature comforts, i still say it needs more the 525's.. its a BIG boat. If they made that boat in say a 32-35 range it would be great for me that is. I love cats..just wish they came like this one. in my eyes, a decent cabin, nice cockpit, plenty of room to work on engines, and it even has a swim platform. Oh I did think it needed better wind protection...but when i talked with a salesman for sonic(they were just taking on the line back then) he said they were working on adding an additional wind protection
