It's been a long winter up here in Maine this year! Here it is March 26th and there's still three feet plus on the ground.

Here's a few pics for you southern guys. We've lost many buildings from the weight of the snow. A friends boat storage building collapsed with over 90 boats inside. Pretty much all destroyed.

Here's a few more I just took. Our fishing boat has finally appeared and our Donzi is starting to melt. Both boats are on trailers.
Still buried next to the motor home is an F-350 plow truck.

Winter '08 has been a strong one, we got the first snow Thanksgiving weekend and we'll still have snow on the ground for a good 4-5 weeks. :angry-smiley-038: Five months of winter is just too much. I'm ready to move south! :cool-smiley-027:

Kurt

Biggus 03-26-2008 03:30 PM

No pics but here's a testament to Cigarette for ya.
A buddy of mine's barn also collapsed from the snow load with his Top Gun inside along with several cars and his mint condition Aristocraft. When the roof fell in, it landed on the deck of the Gun. The trailer under the Gun flattened, but the Mighty Cigarette held up the rest of the building. Zero damage to the other boats and cars and minimal damage to the Cigarette!

DAmn.... we're lucky if we had 4 inches of snow this winter.... We usually get a helluva lot more than that but I'm not complaining!

Heck the grass seed I threw down started to grow a little this week and I put the drives back on the boat last Saturday....

Wow: your only 20 miles north of me and we have only seen 1/2 inch this year in Toms River

Gladhe8er 03-26-2008 04:02 PM

I bet we got less than a foot this year in SW CT.

DMAX 03-26-2008 04:16 PM

Hopefully all this snow gaurantee's plenty of water in our lakes this year.

Magic Medicine 03-26-2008 04:20 PM

Northern Michigan had a great snow year. Still snow on the ground, a great winter for us snowmobilers. I enjoyed it but I am ready to go boating now.

rangerrick63 03-26-2008 04:20 PM

Thank goodness for "Global Warmin".....Can't imagine how bad it would've been it weren't for that....:hitfan:

I grew up in FL, & always wondered why so many folks moved to FL during the winter.....Guess that answers that....

Perlmudder 03-26-2008 04:28 PM

yikes!

BajaFresh 03-26-2008 05:06 PM

Biggus -

Crazy - my family has a summer home on the coast of maine near South Bristol and my parents have been telling me how bad the winter has been. I feel for you guys up there....must be brutal and I know I could not deal with it.
Do you ever take your Cig out in the ocean up there or go to places like the Damariscotta river, Boothbay, Bar Harbor, Pemiquid bay etc ? I was thinking I might tow my boat up there for the month of July and do some boating but wanted to hear from someone local if go fast boats ever run around up there ?? I know the lobstermen would love that !!!!

Me too, Al. Damn ... gotta go mow the lawn again! :D

BlackJack58 03-26-2008 06:49 PM

Yeah - I'm getting a little schitzoid...two weeks ago, I shoveled 15" of that white crap outta my driveway. Last weekend I was in Raliegh NC for the NCAA basketball playoffs, it was in the 60's and 70's...sunny...flowers in bloom...got back home Monday and was scraping ice off my windshield Tuesday morning. Aaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

Audiofn 03-26-2008 09:23 PM

Biggus I hope the crack heads stay out of there!!!!

We've broken every record for snowfall here- monthly and seasonal. Seven feet of the shiite. Al Gore cannot be found; something like thirty debate requests declined. Broke my blowers and my shovels, and have resorted to piss ing on the stuff to get rid of it.

Downtown42 03-27-2008 08:49 AM

Milwaukee had record snowfall since 1886. Break the ice.

klaw 03-27-2008 09:01 AM

starting to snow again here in Chicago this morning
I wanted to fire up the boat this weekend

Kurt (Biggus), I feel your pain, its supposed to snow tonight. Spring needs to get here. The cigs need to get out. Here are some northern cig boats in my front yard. Last year this time we were in Ithaca dealing with my boat.

Man, that looks remarkably similar to ASG/Wild's boat. Do you think you could spear a red Donzi into the side of it and make it even more authentic? :evilb:

Perhaps a little Mini-Titos hanging off of a tree branch closeby?

cigrocket 03-27-2008 10:51 AM

That's some funny **it!! Where is spring?

Crazy isn't it!!!! We have people what work in Northern NJ, another 20-30 miles north and they got a lot more snow than us... In NY state and northward they had FEET...

Yesterday it was in the 60's and I looked at the weather in upstate NY and it was in the 30's.... :hitfan:

This was a crazy winter but I think the warm Atlantic ocean helped us this year, which may not be so good for hurricane season.... :hitfan:

wananewboat 03-27-2008 02:37 PM

Kurt, where in Maine was that marina, it looks like Naples Marina?

Queenie 03-27-2008 02:43 PM

March 2008 has been the snowiest on record in our area, and we're not done with it yet!

It's been a very long winter.

Son of a Gun 03-27-2008 03:05 PM

We've had a ton of snow this year but I still haven't ridden my sled in 3 weeks, no desire to ride.

Anyone want to buy it? It's for sale. :D

I saw it for sale on HCS. Wondering why you were selling...

Son of a Gun 03-27-2008 03:30 PM

I've simply lost the desire for it unfortunately.

I was looking into getting a bike for the summer months, I'd get more use out of that than my sled.

mikes280 03-27-2008 07:28 PM

well it was 75 here today and at 8.30pm it is still 70. I have windows open in the house and it feels good in Charlotte NC.

kimmer 03-27-2008 07:40 PM

Cigrocket - cute pics! Your defintely waiting for warm weather. It's a nice sunny high of 83 here tomorrow:party-smiley-004:

damdonzi 03-27-2008 09:13 PM

damdonzi 03-27-2008 09:33 PM

glassdave 03-27-2008 10:01 PM

we are in the middle of a 2-4 inch snow fall right now AND its thundering and lightning. Snows coming down pretty good, kinda weird with the lightning.

BOBCATMATHEWS 03-27-2008 10:19 PM

jhiguy377 03-28-2008 01:10 AM

Audiofn 03-28-2008 06:47 AM
