Look out for a new Yanmar with high pressure direct injection packaged with a drive rumoured to be 350hp and a solid drive that will stand the HP!

What we need is Yanmar or Cummins to come out with their 480 hp package and get it to be in the 600hp/1300 tq range..that will solve all my problems..The drives are the easy part.. ASD-8's..The boat...well..guess..:grinser010:

fpt 560 hp is some where close to that TQ . and from i understand they build the cuminins motor's so they should be reliable and they are building a usa network now ,

That would be so sick, imagine that power and effortless high cruising speeds with awesome fuel mileage.

Let me jump in here again and stir it up~!

How much would anyone pay for those magic 600hp engines, just the engine itself - each?

Let's say there is an extensive dealer network up and down coastal areas, a 3 year or 300 hr warranty - how much are you willing to pay for each engine?

One more thing what doesd a 600hp Merc cost - just engine?

Those motors are a work of art!

Does any UK member know this firm?

http://www.chipexpress.com/products/2458/

I have twin Volvo D6 370 with DPH drives in My 38" Wellcraft Excalibur. (cruising at 40 knots and top speed is 44-45 knots) I'm not forced to change my drives to DPR as the DPH's Nibral propellers cant take the cruising speed my boat goes.

With DPR I should be able to map some more Hp/Torque to upper range as those D6's with their 5.5litre engines are quite mildly tuned.

Anyone else with D6's?

I guess I should have read a few pages back. The cost numbers are extremely fair, and the hp/tq is very close. I just am worried about how long those 300 dealers will have support unlike Cummins and Yanmar.. Im going to give it another year or so in this economy.

As to what I would pay for a 600hp motor ?????the problem I have is the 300 hours for warranty..Ill stick with a gasser at that point. Jeff
