Minimum Size Requirements

What is the minimum size required by Coast Guard for rear lettering on a documented boat?

Min size of name?
Min size of hailing port?
Min Size of ID # under engine hatch
There is no flat surface on my Formula, so I will have to put it on the small stepped surface behind the swim platform. Any suggestions, or pics of Formulas 382's preferably

Thanks

Anyone?

What is the size of the letters of your documented boat?

According to Chapman Piloting and Seamanship, the vessel name and hailing port must be at least four inches in height. As far as the "official number" goes, it only states that it must be permanently marked in Arabic numerals at least three inches high on a clearly visible member of the vessel. Hope this helps.
